“Mm-hmm.”

“Come for me,” he said, stroking me off.

I did moments later with a groan before reclaiming his mouth to ride out my pleasure. Once I was done, he let go and pulled out, only to bend down and lick up the spent semen on my abs.

“Better than I remember,” he said.

“I hope you can reload quickly. I’d like some of yours, too.”

He smiled and flopped down next to me. “When’s your flight? You can stay over if you want. Go for a round two later?”

“I’d like nothing better.”

???

I didn’t know when he got out of bed, but he stood above me to shake me awake.

“Mason. Mason, wake up, man. You’re gonna be late for your flight. I made breakfast.”

I smelled the bacon before I opened my eyes. But what I saw when I did was more appetizing. Alec was smiling down at me. The slow ache in my lower quarters reminded me of the several rounds of lovemaking we had the night before.

“C’mon, if you wanna eat and shower, you gotta get up.” His smile leaked into his voice.

I threw the covers off, revealing my nude body and morning wood. He playfully grabbed it before I stood up. Without thinking, I placed a small kiss on his lips. His cheeks were red as I ran to take a pee.

After relieving myself, I wanted to slip on my skimpy undies, but I had stripped nude in his doorway, forcing me to walk out naked. Alec was sitting at the breakfast bar off his kitchen in his underwear.

His brow rose. “Balls out?”

“My clothes are…” I scanned the room and found nothing. His apartment looked like it was staged for a photo shoot again. Only the two plates, coffees, and glasses of orange juice were out of place.

“Where are my clothes?”

Alec laughed. “I washed them for you before you woke up. Didn’t you see them folded on my dresser?”

I hadn’t, and my cheeks heated. As I turned to go put something on, he stopped me. “I’ll be balls out too,” and shucked his underwear off, letting them pool at his feet.

Smiling, I took the seat next to him. The plate before me was perfect. Eggs over easy, just as I liked them, with overdone bacon and underdone toast. He used to make it for me when we were together. It was my favorite breakfast.

The Alec before wouldn’t have shucked his underwear to eat naked unless we were planning on involving our dicks. I liked it more than a lot. I couldn’t believe I’d spent so much time without him.

“Thanks,” I said, taking my first bite.

He smiled and said, “Of course,” with a mouth full of eggs.

It was so stupid. All of it. Getting together in the first place was a terrible decision on both sides. But then how we split was even worse. Maybe Alec needed to change. Maybe I did, too. But we could have done it together. Been there for one another. Came out of it as a unit, as friends and partners and lovers. We didn’t get the chance because I was a stupid child.

Soon, I’d have to shower, dress, and leave. I’d often be back in Denver for work, and we’d likely see each other. But was that it? Did we put a period at the end of our relationship? He had saidfinebut was more than a few bourbons deep, and then said nothing concrete or serious. What did that mean? Did his feelings change after our multiple rounds of mind-breaking sex?

“When is your flight again? Might have to eat fast,” Alec said, shoveling food into his mouth.

“What did you mean last night by nothing concrete or serious?”

He didn’t look up from his eggs. “I don’t know, man. I was pretty tipsy. And you’re ahellof a salesman. I think I just said that so you’d shut up.”

“Alec, seriously.”

He looked at me. “I guess I meant friends with benefits? Because, if last night says anything, we can’t work together without fucking each other’s brains out.”
