Well, the confusion was gone but now Dex was staring at me in horror.
“I didn’t mean to manipulate you,” I tried to assure him. “I just thought telling you before might make it less..” I shrugged as I ran out of words. “Anyway, that’s what I was trying to figure out. How to approach it to tell you so it wasn’t manipulative but also didn’t make you think it wasn’t because I love you.”
When Dex finally spoke, he was back to staring at the bed and sounded appalled. “Otto, I swear on everything I love that I never told anyone you raped me.”
“It’s okay, Dex,” I assured him. “I mean, it’s true so there’s no reason you shouldn’t have. Um, you probably should have reported it instead of protecting me. You still can.”
Dex’s eyes shot back to mine and to my surprise they were flashing angrily. “I never told anyone you raped me because you didn’t, dumbass. And you better believe I’ll be taking that up with Taylor.”
“Dex, I..”
“I’m still talking,” Dex snapped. “I was more than a willing participant in everything that happened. Or did you forget about the fact that I was the one who climbed your fence? That I was the one that approached you?”
“I know that but..”
“Butwhat?” Dex all but spit at me.
I groaned. “Dex, I wasn’t trying to make you mad, I swear.”
“You didn’t answer me.”
“But I remember enough to know I pinned you to the ground and forced you,” I gritted out through my teeth. “And I know I threw you out right after. No one’s first time should be like that.”
Dex surprised me by laughing. “You’re right. You were an absolute fucking prick afterward but the first part? Where my Alpha wanted me so much that he pinned me down and fucked me senseless? I jerk off to that memory all the time.”
“You do?” I stared at him, noting the deep flush rising in his cheeks. Then I caught the shift in his scent, the pheromones that screamed his arousal to the world. “Oh, fuck. You’re serious, aren’t you?”
Dex’s lips twisted into a wicked grin and he pulled the comforter aside so I could see his erection growing. “I am very serious,” he said firmly, wrapping one hand around his dick and squeezing lightly. “Last night was wonderful but our real first time is not a memory that I want to forget. In fact, once I have the baby, I was hoping for a repeat.”
I swallowed hard, my cock springing up to push at the covers. “I, um, I think we can manage that.”
“Good.” Dex scooted back over, throwing his leg over my hips to straddle me and bringing my spare hand to his dick. “In the meantime, what are you going to do about this?”
Chapter Thirty-One
Dex
“It’s been two months.” I knew I was whining but didn’t really care. “I’ve dropped every fucking kind of hint I can come up with and Otto still hasn’t mentioned claiming me again.”
Taylor gave an impressive eye roll and sucked a mouthful of iced latte through his straw.
“What did I tell you three days ago when you complained about it? Or the four times before that?”
Okay, so I’d brought it up a time or two. Maybe more.
I huffed. “To bring it up in a conversation like an adult,” I snarked. “Is that not what I’m doing?”
“Not with me, dumbass. With the damn Alpha in question, princess.”
“I thought you loved me?” I was definitely whining again. “Why can’t you drop a hint or two?”
“Because he’s waiting foryouto be sure,” Taylor snapped back. “Not me. Why can’t you just tell him you’re ready? In those words, not wrapped in innuendo or muffled by his dick in your mouth.”
Ouch. My best friend was savage today.
“Really? That’s the best you can do?” I sighed. “If you came tomewith a problem, I’d actually try to help you.” I put on my best sad face. “Youknowhow much I’ve been through the last few months. Aren’t you the one who kept saying stress isn’t good for your future nibbling?”
“For fucks sake,” Taylor groaned and plopped his cup down, ignoring the specks of whipped cream that splattered across the table. “Fine. You really want me to find a solution?”
