"Did you consent to it?"
"No," I tried to keep my voice calm. "Cal isn't big on consent. He's more the does-whatever-the-hell-he-wants kind of Alpha."
"I see." Doc scribbled a note in my file. "Was he also responsible for the torture you endured before Colt found you?"
"I wasn't tortured," I disputed quietly. "At least, that wasn't the goal, I mean."
"They were trying to kill you," Colt said suddenly, his hand clamping down on mine.
I nodded.
Doc sighed. "Well, Sky, the good news is that I have every reason to believe that you're going to be fine now. I would strongly encourage you to speak with a representative from the Council of Packs Crimes Against Omegas division, though."
I raised a brow. "I don't think they're holding any shifters, though. Other than the bastards in charge, everyone there was human."
"Everyone?" Colt broke in. "All of the other prisoners are human, too?"
"Well, yeah." I wasn't quite sure I was following the reason for his surprise. "I mean, all of the actual alive ones. He is using shifter DNA in his experiments, but so far all of them have failed. I think he's getting the DNA from somewhere else." I cleared my throat. "I mean, Salem just isn't a very safe place for shifters. If he was caught with unregistered shifters, there would be hell to pay."
"But as long as he's just abusing human Omegas, that's okay?" Colt snarled.
"Omega rights aren't really a thing for a lot of humans, you know." I patted his shoulder with the hand that he wasn't clutching. "Unfortunately, most people are all for eradicating us, so they look the other way." I shrugged. "And it isn't all Omegas. He's got a couple of Alphas that I know of, too."
The lines in Colt's brow deepened further. "Sky, I think you need to talk to Rafael. Can you do that?"
With no clue who he was referring to, I just shrugged again. "I don't know what good it will do, but if you want me to. Sure."
"Later, Colt," Doc interjected. "Sky needs more rest first."
Colt tensed up, but then nodded. "Okay, Doc." He shifted on the bed, gently nudging me to the side so he could lie beside me. One strong arm eased me over until I was tucked up close to his side. "Go to sleep, Sky. I'll be here when you wake up."
