I pop my head around the corner and watch him disappearing into the VIP lounge, sure enough, on his phone. Damn it, I shouldn’t have said anything. He just kept pushing until I caved, and now he’s just going to anger the beast, then I’m going to have to deal with him when I get home tonight.

Chapter 17

What’s Love Got to Do with It

Tonighthasbeenalot less dramatic than last night. With Cruz holed up at home recovering from his injuries, I have done my stage rotation and a few lap dances with no trouble at all. Now I’m in the dressing rooms having a quick drink of water and bite to eat when Paige comes rushing in.

“There you are,” she says with excitement in her voice as her eyes lock with mine.

“Sorry, did you need me? I was just having my break.”

She pulls up a chair beside me and sits. “Keep eating. I wanted to check somethingwith you.”

“Okay,” I say cautiously because this doesn’t sound good.

“The guy you met in the private suites last night—that all went well?” She gives me a look like she’s not so sure it did, and I worry immediately.

“I think so. He got a text and had to leave in a rush, so it was a bit of an anticlimax, but he seemed to enjoy the time we had together. Did he make a complaint or something?”

She smiles. “No, the opposite. He’s requested another night with you. It’s just odd because he doesn’t come here very often, and if I’m honest, I can’t even remember the last time he did. I wouldn’t have expected him to come back so soon, especially asking for the same girl.”

My heart kicks up a beat, wondering exactly what this means. “Should I say no then?”

“No, the cash bonus is the best you can get. I wouldn’t be turning him down if you had fun last night. I just wanted you to be aware.”

“Okay. Hey, Paige, does he normally get the girls to wear a blindfold?”

“Always,” she answers like it’s no big deal, and I know they have all sorts of requests for these rooms, and this one’s major, but I am dying to know if it’s Jagger or not.

“So, no one knows who he is?”

She leans in. “The girls don’t know, but management would, they have to approve all VIP applications that come through this place.”

I blink back at her, not sure if I like what that means. “So, Sloane would know?”

“I assume so. Why is his identity important?”

I look away quickly. “No reason. It’s just weird, right? He’s seen every part of me except my eyes. And I don’t get to see him at all.”

She slides her finger over the iPad screen. “I think that just adds to the allure.” She grins at me. “So, you want to do it? I can tick the box right now.” Her finger hovers over her keypad.

I nibble my bottom lip as I think about it. Do I want another night with him? If it is Jagger, I’m mighty pissed at him right now, and the last thing I want is to be fucking around with him, especially if what Sloane said is true and he never acts like this about anyone. That seems dangerous. On the other hand, I had fun last night, and I was disappointed when it was cut short. I wouldn’t mind finishing what I started with the sexy stranger. It could be a fun distraction from what’s going on with the Stryker boys, and I’m sure it’s not Jagger, right? Oh shit, he’s messing with my head. I really hate not knowing. But I hate the idea of missing out even more. “Why not!”

“You’re so much more adventurous than I thought you would be. I love it on you, girl.” She ticks the box, and I know I don’t have long to get ready. “Fix yourself up and head down to room five. I’ve made the booking for eleven o’clock. Make sure the blindfold is on before he opens the door. Oh, and he has a few other rules tonight. He wants you to wear a dress, something cute and playful—no underwear. There will also be a seat set up in there. He wants you waiting for him sitting on the seat, not on the bed.”

An excited thrill runs through me. I guess tonight I could find out the truth. But do I really want to know, or is the illusion better? I move to my locker and pop open the door. “The only dress I have is the one I wore to work today, so I guess that will have to do.” I show it to her.

“That’s perfect.” She beams as she flicks her hair over her shoulder and strides out the door.

Fifteen minutes later, wearing my new white and navy-blue polka dot dress, I type in the code to room five and close the door behind me.I light the candles and turn on some soft music, like I did last night. Then, I move over to the chair and take a seat, placing the blindfold over my eyes. It’s block-out black, I can’t see a damn thing. And as soon as it’s on, the rest of my senses go into overdrive.

It’s not long before the door opens, and I know he’s here with me. Nervous butterflies take flight right through my body, and I want to know more than ever if this mystery man is Jagger. His scent, the same one I smelled on him this morning, wafts around me. But maybe this guy just wears the same cologne or aftershave; it’s not foolproof evidence.

“Spread your legs,” he instructs from right in front of me.

My heart leaps with excitement. But that is most definitely his deep, commanding voice, resonating with authority. I would know it anywhere. I couldn’t possibly be mistaken about this. My legs open up wide, wishing I could see his reaction, knowing my dress is short enough that he’s going to see everything all the way up my thighs to my now dripping pussy.

He groans, a deep guttural sound that tells me all I need to know; he likes what he sees. His fingers dance up my thigh, brushing my wrap skirt open further for him. His feather-light touch sends a scattering of goosebumps over my exposed skin. He keeps going, traveling higher until he’s cupping my pussy. The warmth of his skin on mine wakes up my lady parts and makes them throb with desperation for whatever he is willing to give me.
