I shrugged. “He paid. Directly into her bank account every month. No problem. But he moved out to California, remarried, and had other kids. The few times I went out there to visit, he and his new wife made no attempt to make me part of their family. I liked playing with Marshall and Amanda, but they were younger than me, and I guess when they grew older, they didn’t really care to have some half brother they didn’t know.”

“So you don’t see or talk to them?”

I shook my head, too afraid of losing it to speak.

“How could he do that to you? What a piece of shit.”

“When I’d ask to visit over the summers, he refused, saying they were taking family vacations. I wasn’t invited. After three years of asking, I finally got the hint and stopped.”

During the conversation, Ronan had put his arm around me, and it was the most natural thing in the world to lean into him. I was so tired of being strong. The one to hold his chin up and take the shots. Even the unbreakable can feel pain.

“I’m sorry, Gabriel. That’s awful. A parent should always be there for you, no matter what.”

“It’s okay.” I blinked hard. “I have my mom, and she’s got such a big heart, it’s enough for two parents. She’s always been there for me.” I managed a slightly watery chuckle. “Sometimes too much, but that’s her Jewish mother genes.”

His hold on me tightened. “I’m glad. But your father is still a piece of shit, and I hope you’ve told him.”

“No,” I said, shaking my head. “I took the hint and let him fade out of my life. Once a year I call him, but he rarely picks up, hasn’t in a few years. Unsurprisingly, we have nothing to say to each other. I don’t need to push myself on someone who obviously doesn’t want me.”

Warm lips touched my cheek, and I shivered. “What about someone who does?”

“I don’t think—”

“But I do.” Ronan feathered kisses up and down my jaw, breathed into my ear. Shivers ran through me, and I was panting as though I’d run a six-minute mile. “I want you, Gabriel. All of you.”

“I shouldn’t—”

“Then don’t. In the bedroom I’m not your boss. When we’re like this, the only thing I see is Gabriel. The man I want more than anything.”

Ronan’s mouth covered mine, and I melted into him, his increasingly familiar touch setting off a wildness I’d never known existed outside of movies or novels. I couldn’t get enough of his taste, of the slide of his skin against mine. The few clothes we had on were thrown off, and we became a tangle of hot, naked skin and searching lips. I sucked his tongue, and he groaned, a delicious, guttural sound.

“Fuck me, Gabriel. I’ve never said that to anyone before, but I need to feel you inside me.”

“You’re driving me crazy, have been since we first met, but I never thought I’d end up in your bed. I just don’t want this to explode in our faces.”

Ronan lay beneath me, and I put my hand over his heart, feeling the frantic pumping. His blue eyes blazed fire, and he grasped me by the neck and pulled my mouth to his.

“I wanted you the moment I saw you. Right now, the only thing that’s ready to explode is me. Life’s all about risks. I’m ready to take the chance and jump. Do you want to jump with me?”

I couldn’t say no, not when his heart beat in the same rhythm as mine and our lips fit together like we’d been kissing for years. I wanted Ronan, all of him, and I was going to make damn sure that if this was the only time, I’d have every inch of him.

My journey began with teasing his nipples until they rose in short, stiff peaks, then licking and nipping a wet path down that tantalizing happy trail, making him moan and cry out. And what joy it brought me when after tickling his belly button, I faced his thick cock rising up from its dark thatch of rough hair. I nuzzled his groin and licked his sac. I got to my knees.

“You’re beautiful here too.”

I made sure to keep eye contact with Ronan as I slid my lips over the soft crown of his dick, watching his mouth fall open and his eyes slide shut in bliss. I swirled my tongue over the head, tasting the sweet precome on my tongue before fully engulfing him.

“Fuck, Gabriel.” Ronan’s muscular thighs tensed under my fingers, and I knew he hadn’t been joking when he said he was ready to explode. He trembled, and I sucked harder and moved faster, wanting him to give in and let go. “Fuck. Oh God, oh…God.”

With my lips wrapped over his shaft, he erupted and came, jerking under me as he spent into my mouth. I drank him down, the taste of him sweeter than any dessert.

“Mmm.” I licked the last drops clinging to my lips, observing Ronan blissed out, with a wide grin on that beautiful mouth of his. He cracked one eye open and waved me over. “C’mere.”

I lay next to him, and he slung his arm over my chest. “That was amazing but not enough. I told you I need you inside me, and I meant it. Please.” He pressed kisses to my neck, and as I feared, I found myself helpless to resist him. In minutes Ronan had me writhing and thrusting my painfully engorged cock into his fist. “It’s not enough. I’m done getting you off with my hand or mouth. Fuck me.”

“I don’t have any condoms.”

Ronan shot me a look. “Be right back.”
