“Yeah. Thanks, Mikey. I appreciate it.”

“No prob. Catch you later.”

A reminder for the meeting beginning in fifteen minutes pinged on my phone and computer, and I winced. I needed to fix that. No one liked being nagged in stereo. “All right, I’m going.”

I picked up a pad and pen from the desk and saw a text from Frisco pop up on my phone screen.

Have to cancel. Something came up I can’t get out of. Tomorrow? I promise to make it up to you.

Sure. Good things are worth waiting for.

I sure am.

Feeling better about things all around, I left my office to go to my first meeting.
