“Yes, I’m digesting all the information.” Standing from the booth, I decide to go find my stepsister and cut all ties with her. “I’ve got to get out of here, as I have a meeting to get to.”
“I don’t think you are allowed out of the compound, Molly.” Bri looks around to see if anyone is taking notice of what we are saying.
Frowning, as I don’t think anyone is going to stop me from doing what I need to do or where I need to go. “Well, I have a stepsister to kill.”
“Can you do it tomorrow? I’m going shopping tomorrow and I could sneak you out. You’ll not get out of here today, Molly. You have the brothers coming back from checking out your apartment, too.” Marcia, same as Bri, looks around to see who is watching us.
“Well, I don’t know where she’ll be tomorrow. A short while ago she was at a diner on East Street in Eastridge. That’s why I wanted to go now, or she’ll disappear again.”
“Oh, I see. Has Bull checked for you?” Bri asks, and I hold back the smirk when I see Marcia nodding her head in unison with Bri’s question.
“Yes, he checked for me.” I step away from the booth because I’ve been standing here a while now and starting to feel ridiculous.
Marcia edges out of the booth and points to the booth she’s just left. “Wait while I go ask Bull to check if she is still there.”
Now, I’m sitting with Bri twiddling my thumbs, waiting for Marcia to come back. I’m taken by surprise when Bri asks. “So, what’s going on between you and Breaker?”
Turning to look at her, because I’m astonished at her question. “There is nothing going on between Breaker and me. We were just grabbed by that other club. Thankfully, we helped eachother escape and get a message to your president. That’s it, no romance going on between us.”
“Oh, that’s a shame. I thought maybe you and Breaker were together.”
Before more can be said Marcia walks back into the rec room and to our booth. Taking a seat, she looks at me as she speaks, “Nope, she’s moved from the diner, and now she’s turned off her phone. You’ll have to wait until she turns it back on, but I bribed Bull to tell us when she’s back on the air.”
“What did you bribe him with?” Bri leans forward and her eyes are wide with curiosity.
“One of my special coconut and pineapple cakes. He wants a LOT of frosting.” Marcia emphasizes the lot regarding the frosting.
“No point me going out after all, then.” Sighing as I know Carrie-Anne has slipped away again.
The front door opens, and four men walk into the rec room. One walks over to the three of us in the booth and gives me a pitying look. “I’m sorry, Molly, but your apartment is wrecked. There isn’t a thing left intact.”
I sit stunned and if I’m honest, I could easily burst into tears. I’ve only just gotten my apartment as I would like it to be. Spent money on new decorations, and even a beautiful cover for the sofa, which had seen better days.
“This is Chips, Molly,” Marcia informs me, giving aDuhlook at the man.
“Riddle has spoken with the landlord. He’s given him hell about the lack of security in the building.” Chips smirks and spins the story out somewhat before I interrupt him.
“Are you telling me I get compensation for the damage because the security on the building wasn’t up to spec? Yet, the people that did this were intentionally after me anyway, but you are having the landlord claim on his insurance to put things right?” My eyes must be as huge as saucers at this stage because I’ve heard nothing like this.
Marcia and Bri laugh, and by the way they are looking at me, they are laughing at my shocked face. I, on the other hand, keep looking at Chips for confirmation. Which he gives by nodding every few seconds.
Bull walks over from somewhere and as I hadn’t noticed where from, he makes me jump and I give a little squeak at the same time. Much to everyone’s amusement once more.
“I’ve just spoken to your boss, Molly, and she’s finished with you. Won’t budge on the issue either. I threatened her with the Oversight Board, but you broke the contract by not contacting her on a no turn up basis.”
“No, turn up? No freaking turn up? Oh, she’ll pay me severance big style or I’ll take her to the Oversight Board. She can’t call it no turn up when I was freaking kidnapped.” I’m now on my feet and huffing loudly. It’s a darn good job that stupid bitch is not in front of me because I’d smack the shit out of her for being a total idiot.
“I wouldn’t let her get away with it,” Marcia snaps.
Bri, of course throws in her thoughts. “Yeah, what a bitch. I take it she knows Molly was kidnapped?” Bri asks Bull as she stands, placing her hands on her hips.
Bull grins. “Oh, yeah, she knows. I made sure to tell her.”
“Well, she’s not getting this all her own way.” I have an idea flash across my mind, and I give Marcia and Bri a look.
Bull groans, before he walks away mumbling, “Shit, do I want to know?”
Turning to Bri, Marcia and Chips who is still standing here with an amused look on his face I snarl. “Well, let’s see what she thinks about my plan shall we. Maybe HR will think twice about the position my boss has put them in.” I give an evil grin, then cackle like a witch, which has the three of them laughing even more and louder.
