I have a brother and a prospect on me already, and I give Hellion and Noah a wave as I walk over to the SUV. Hellion takes the driver's seat and looks over his shoulder at me where I’ve taken the back seat. I smirk, “Into town, please.”
Holding back my laughter when I hear Hellion grunt, and Noah is struggling not to smile. I’ve only had one interaction with Hellion so far, and it was a two-word response. Not sure he knows how to hold a conversation?
Stepping out of the SUV, I look at Noah, then Hellion. “Bri and Marcia will be here soon, but I’m not hanging around waiting. If you walk a little behind me that will be good. I’m going to wander up Main Street on one side and then back on the other side. Keep your eyes open for Carrie-Anne. I’m sure she’s looking for me, because she’ll want me to pay whatever she’s stolen to get her out of the shit she’s in.”
“You know Breaker isn’t going to like this, don’t you?” Noah asks.
“Well, shame for Breaker then,” I reply while turning to head down the street. Hellion is frowning, and honestly, he’d be handsome if he didn’t frown so much. He’s going to have a face lined like an old saddlebag by the time he’s sixty at this rate.
“You know you said that out loud don’t you, Molly?” Noah says while looking like he wants to be anywhere but here.
Turning I look at Hellion who is still frowning. “Well, I’m right. He’s still frowning. It wouldn’t hurt to crack a smile now and again.”
Bri and Marcia arrive twenty minutes after I walk along Main Street. We talk, discuss things in shop windows, but we are looking around as we do. So far, nothing to report is what I’m thinking, and I'm annoyed that we could do this for weeks.
“Okay, go into the next shop. I’m going to wander further up the street.” I push Bri lightly and pass her, looking into shop windows as I slowly wander.
A flash of green has caught my eye, and looking up I see it’s the bitch herself. I take off running and hear heavy footsteps behind me, so know Hellion or Noah are right behind me. Or both, but I’m not stopping to check. I turn the corner at the next shop and see Carrie-Anne running, and isn’t that Angel running with her?
“Angellllll…” I hear bellowed and falter in my running when I see Bear running full out trying to catch Angel.
I am crashed into from behind, and nearly face plant onto the sidewalk. A pair of arms wraps around me and rights me onto my feet. Which brings me face-to-face with Hellion. “Oh, you know you have pretty eyes.” Oh, shit, why did I say that.
Chuckling makes me turn my head, and I see Noah is finding all this highly amusing. “You are so funny, Molly. I love being your security detail.”
Hellion grunts again, and lets go of me, but he rushes forward toward where Bear, Carrie-Anne and Angel disappeared.
Bear and Hellion walk back to Noah and me a few minutes later, shaking their heads to confirm they got away. “Goddamn it,” Bear snarls. “It’s a good thing Bull sorted out the bitch stealing my money and getting it back, or I’d be willing to break her neck. I’m not worried that I’ll falter at doing it now either.”
“She is as bad as Carrie-Anne, and you can bet they are up to something. Now we have two to sort out instead of one,” I snap, right before turning around and walking back to the SUV.
CHAPTER 22
*~* Breaker *~*
Sneaky, sneaky, Molly. As soon as she’s gone to work I’m going to sort out that room so she can’t lock me out. That’ll get her sass showing I’m sure. I love to see her riled up. It has her cheeks pinking, eyes sparkling, and she does not realize she sticks her chest out when she’s pissed off.
Walking into the clubhouse, I head straight for Whack's office. A message sent to all officers early this morning has every one of us meeting with Whack. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’m guessing it has to do with the trip the women took into town yesterday.
I never spoke to Molly last night after she got back and barricaded herself inside her bedroom. Maybe something has happened that will bring us nearer to catching the bitch.
Taking a seat on one side of Whack’s office, I wait for him to start the meeting. The door is closed, and prospect Mateo is on guard. He’s a good prospect and will make a brilliant brother when the time comes.
“Okay, I’ve called the meeting as the women saw Carrie-Anne last night. Didn’t grab the sneaky bitch, but there is a fresh development to the mess.” Pausing to create an effect I’m sure, we all hold our breath waiting for the shit he’s going to throw. “Seems that Bear’s niece Angel has got herself a friend. Yeah, you guessed it. She’s teamed up with Carrie-Anne.”
Griller snarls, and I mean fiercely. “Fuckin’ hell, can’t Bear sort out that bitch. She’s stolen half his fuckin’ money, and now she’s involved with this piece of shit. Rage has also told me that Jamie is sure Angel was stealing from the practice. Ordering more stock than needed, but no stock to be seen. Not sure who she was selling the stuff to, but the stuff is gone.”
“We have two to catch, and you know the world will be a better place with these two not in it,” Whack rubs his chin as he speaks. “Or, how about we let the Cobras have them both?”
Bull speaks out. “I’ve got the money back for Bear. It was easy enough to get it from her bank. She was so clever she put it into a savings account.” Now, that has us all laughing because honestly, the woman has no brain.
“Bri has said that she and Marcia are not giving up on finding either of them. They are going to keep walking through town, not just on Main Street. They’ll do it while Molly is working and report to Molly what they find,” Saddle informs us. “They are pissed they didn’t catch her yesterday, but Molly is right. Carrie-Anne is a sneaky bitch. I just don’t understand why she’s hanging around?”
“What about the tracker on Angel? Won’t that now lead us to both of them, grab them together and decide what to do with them?” Pens asks, and he’s right. We could get them both together.
Bull shakes his head. “The tracker on Angel is not working. I put one on her phone, which I reckon she’s found and removed. I also put one in her purse, inside the lining. At the time I had Bri stitch it inside, but that’s not working as all I’m getting is static.”
“Well, let’s discount that and keep your eye open, Bull. If the static passes and you get a fix we’ll swoop in and grab them. Even if we only get her, then it’s worth doing.” Whack rubs his neck, then continues. “Cannon has spoken to Para, and he’s going to meet us at the safe house. It’s going to be a trap I’m sure, so we'll make sure we are in place early and see what they do. I want you to speak to the brothers, Cannon, and give them assigned positions on the property. Breaker, Cannon and Griller will be with me at the farmhouse. Griller, if you go over early and lay weapons around the place, take Saddle with you. Saddle, I don’t want you or Bank taking your old ladies over there. I do not want the risk of them getting hurt.”
