In the rec room, I look around for Molly. Seeing no sign of her, I check the kitchen, and when I open the door, I can’t miss the aroma that hits my nose. There are pastries on the counter, lots of them too. I wander over, and as I lift my hand to take one I look at Molly who appears and slaps my hand.
“Leave them alone. They are for afters.”
“After what?” I stupidly ask.
“After your meal tonight, of course.” Molly rolls her eyes at me and then turns to walk away.
“Why have you done all this?”
Molly stops and looks at me like I’m an idiot. “Well, you have an apple tree in the compound. I got Noah to pick a lot of apples, and I made apple tarts. You know it’s a good thing not to waste food. Even apples from a yard can make some good things.”
“Well, I’m going to want some apple tart because they smell great.”
“I’ve told Noah to watch them while I clean my room, then I’ll be back to finish the tacos for y’all’s lunch.” Molly doesn’t wait for a response, she walks out. Noah passes her in the doorway, and I can see he knows what she wants as he takes a seat, folding his arms and watching me closely. Now although he’s a prospect, he’s been given a job, and he’ll do it, even if he gets himself into trouble.
Walking out of the kitchen, I hear Whack bellow, “Molly.” So, I quickly hightail it to his office to see what’s going on. She is my responsibility after all.
By the time I get into the office, Molly is standing in front of Whack’s desk, but I note she isn’t looking worried. That’s unusual because everyone who is called in by Whack is worried something is wrong and they are in trouble.
“You keep disobeying orders, Molly. You still have a week to serve in the kitchen. Do you want me to make that a month?” Whack asks while steadily looking Molly in the eye.
“Hm, I don’t mind kitchen work, President,” now she says that with a touch of sarcasm, and I’m thinking she’s gonna be a dead woman soon if her attitude keeps up. “If you want me to behave, then you have to stop ordering me around like I’m a part of this club, because I’m not. I’m supposed to be a guest. One that isonly here for safety reasons. Now, I’ve got a job with Jamie, a house to check out and live in as part of that job. So, let’s get this done and over with. We need to find Carrie-Anne and I’m going to kill that bitch. She’s not worth anything and never has been. Then I can get on with my life and you can get on with yours.”
“You knew you were to stay on the compound, Molly. How can we keep you safe if you keep fuckin’ off somewhere without protection?” Whack is frustrated, and I can see he’s being genuine.
“I didn’t think, okay. I just wanted to catch that bitch of a stepsister. I really cannot stand the woman. She has caused me nothing but trouble since the day she came into my life.” Molly takes a seat in front of Whack’s desk, then continues speaking. “You know Whack, this is a nice club. Apart from the women who cause nothing but drama. I’ve met some nice people. Bri and Marcia have become my friends, and when I leave I’m going to miss them. I’ll even miss you and your ordering everyone around.”
Whack closes his eyes for a minute because he either wants to strangle Molly for again disrespecting him, or laugh at her blindness of what she’s doing. I keep quiet and watch the interaction that’s going down.
“Do you honestly think you could seriously hurt Carrie-Anne?” Whack asks her and I see her grit her teeth and her face set solidly.
“Oh yes, I could. If I had the chance I’d get her out of my life and everyone else’s lives. She ruins everything and everyone she meets. You can bet there is more to the mess with that other motorcycle club than you know about.”
“I’m wondering why she’s hanging around? Why has she not fucked off? She’s got a vehicle, so there's no reason not to run as far as she can,” I ask, throwing in a can of worms I suppose.
“Well, she obviously wants something before she runs. I bet it is about money, too.” Molly taps her finger on her chin, and both Whack and I watch as she mulls over something. “My guess is she is looking for me; she wants me to bail her out, or give her enough money to run. Trouble is, she’s screwed me out of everything I ever had, so I’ve nothing left to give her, not financially or emotionally.”
“Okay, Molly, stick to kitchen duty for now. I’ve spoken to Jamie, and she has told me about the job offer and the house. It’s an excellent offer, and with nothing to go back to your old place for it’s a fresh start. I don’t want you to start until we have this fuckin’ mess sorted, but on the other hand it could be a way of drawing out Carrie-Anne. What are your feelings about it?” Whack leans back in his seat, folds his arms over his chest and waits for Molly’s response.
Molly, as I expected didn’t answer right away; she took a moment and thought about it. “I think it could be an excellent way to draw her out. But what about the club that kidnapped me? Will they try again do you think?”
“They may, and we haven’t had the sit-down yet so I can’t guarantee they won’t try something.” Whack looks at me, then at Molly. “We can make sure you are armed if you are comfortable with that. Or we don’t go down that road at all and think of another way of catching the bitch.”
“Let’s do it. I want her gone from my life, and you know it’s okay if that means she’s in a box. I honestly won’t miss her or her nasty, vicious lies, deceits and involvements.”
Listening to Molly, one realizes there is far more to the story than we know. She has such venom toward her stepsister that it's obvious bad things had happened between them. Hearing the tone, it tells me that the trouble in Molly’s life always came from Carrie-Anne’s direction.
“Okay. I’ll speak with the brothers and Jamie. Then we’ll get together again once your kitchen punishment is over. But you are still under the protection of Breaker…” Whack doesn’t get to finish before Molly snorts.
“Yeah, yeah, okay,” looking at me as though I’m her worst nightmare, which has me smirking and winking.
Both Whack and I watch Molly saunter out of his office towards her room and the cleaning she wanted to get done. “She’s one hell of a woman, and if I were looking for one right now I’d snatch her up. She’d put the women in their places and keep them there. You know she told me I needed to get a woman to get this place put right!” Whack laughs. “Hell of a woman,” he mumbles as he shakes his head.
Heading back to my room, I watch as Mella drags a bag out of Slider’s room. Seeing me walking toward her, she tries to quickly tidy herself up, and I can’t help but think Molly is right in her disgust at the women. Mella looks ridiculous. She has hardly any clothes on, if you can call a tiny crop top and a skirt so short her butt cheeks are on display. All that non-clothing while she’s cleaning bathrooms! Yeah, her brain isn’t in her head.
“Stop fuckin’ around and get done with the bathrooms. Tomorrow, you’ll have to do them all again. You best make sure you do a good job, or I’ll make sure you have the duty for the next six months,” I snarl as I pass her not even surprised when she gives a fake sob.
Later I sit with Bull and watch my hog tracker showing its movement and where it’s heading . “I need to get my girl, you know that, Bull?”
