“Morning, Molly. Did you sleep alright?”
“I did thanks. I’m not great in strange places or beds, but I think I was exhausted as I slept like the dead.”
“I spoke to Marcia first thing, and she’s making sure she has her SUV so we can go into town. She’s not told Bank you are coming too, so we need to sneak you in the back. If you stay down in the footwell, the prospect on the gate won’t see you.”
Smiling at Bri, as she is looking like she’s on a covert mission of some sort. But the sparkle in her eyes and the glow on her face shows how excited she is to be doing something she shouldn’t.
“You know you could get into trouble for doing this, don’t you?”
Bri laughs. “Oh yeah. Last time I got a slapped ass, followed by a plug up somewhere we shouldn’t, followed by heavy, hard sex for twenty-four hours. If Saddle thought that was punishment, then I’ll be okay with being punished.”
Now, I must look shocked and have my mouth gaping because Bri laughs, places a finger under my chin to close my mouth before laughing some more. “Come on, Molly. These are bikers we’re talking about. They wouldn’t hurt a woman, but we get punished as I told you before. It’s about respect. To go against what we’ve been told is disrespectful, and our old man is expected to punish us. Well, I’m telling you, I can handle Saddle’s punishment just fine.”
“Bri, I don’t want to know. I cannot imagine a plug up…nope, not even thinking about it. To me that is an exit only place on my body.”
Bri throws her head back, laughing hard. Marcia appears and cocks a questioning eyebrow, to which of course, Bri responds, “Our new friend here isn’t into anal sex. It’ll be interesting to see what punishment she gets from Breaker. He’s responsible for her, after all.”
Marcia grins and winks at me, but I frown as I stand to take my mug to the sink. “You are both crazy if you think I’m going to have anybody shove something up my ass.” I hand the mug to Pattie, who must have overheard the conversation and is smiling at me, but it’s a highly amused smile which has me doing something childish. I stick my tongue out at Pattie, then Bri andMarcia, but all three bust out laughing again. I exit the darn kitchen and scuttle back to my room, where I’m going to freshen up and get ready for the great escape.
An hour later, I’m climbing onto the back seat of the SUV from the footwell, as we have now escaped the compound, and far enough away that I’ll not be seen.
“Well, that was easy,” Bri smirks.
Marcia laughs. “It was, but it won’t take long before Bull knows where we are, so let's get moving.”
“Nothing from my evil stepsister. She’s still got her phone switched off. Probably because she knows I’m gonna kill her when I catch up with her. Shall we show her face around and see if people know where she is?” I ask, while flicking through the few pictures I have of her on my phone.
“We can do that in a few stores, and how about Goldie’s Café?” Bri looks over her shoulder from the front passenger seat to me.
Shrugging as I don’t know Goldie’s Café. “Well, if you think she may have seen something, why not?”
We show Carrie-Anne’s picture to a few shops, but although some recognize her, they have not seen her lately. Goldie however, is not happy. I sit quietly, listening to the conversation, not able to get a word in sideways.
Bri is leaning forward in her seat. “Do you know where she is staying?”
Goldie takes a seat at our table. “No, but I have heard she is coming into town in a black van. I reckon she’s living in the van,but why she’s hanging around here if bikers are after her I don’t know.”
Marcia snorts. “I bet the back of that van stinks. Have you seen her lately? I had seen her probably three months back, and she looks like shit, so I can’t imagine how fucked up she looks now.”
“Last I heard she had stolen money from the Broken Cobras MC. I’ve also heard how disgusting they are. Says it all when they call the president Para.” Goldie turns her nose up.
“What’s wrong with Para?” I stupidly ask.
Goldie scowls, “It’s short for Parasite.”
“Oh!” I was thinking parachute, paraglider, or something along those lines, but parasite, geez!
“I’ll let you know when she rears her head again. She’s maybe moved toward Eastridge, but if I were her, I’d get out of state.” I watch as Goldie heads back behind the counter and continues working.
Deciding this is a dead end for now at least, we head over to the hospital where I’d been fortunate enough to get a job. When they knew I lived in Jacksonville, I was surprised they’d take me on because of the commute. But I had proven them right to employ me as I was always on time, and never had a day off sick. I’ve worked for them for nine months and am out of my six month probation period.
Walking into HR, I spot the HR Manager immediately. Stepping up to her office door, I knock and walk inside, uninvited I might add. I can feel my temper rising when I see the sour face she gives me.
“Good morning, Mrs. Grosvenor.”
Before I can say more, she responds. “Good morning, Miss Brookes. What can I do for you?”
“You know why I am here. You need to reinstate me immediately, or I will make sure this becomes an issue for the hospital. Before you start with all the bullshit let’s talk about being kidnapped, and not able to call your job and say you cannot show up, shall we?” I am letting my attitude out, which probably isn’t helping my case, but if she thinks I’m going to bow down and let this go she has another think coming.
