“It’s ready to eat.You can turn off the power in here now if you want.We can eat by candlelight,” Ancelin suggested.Krevan sat the box of candles down and turned to go back into the garage, and within seconds, the lights flashed out in the kitchen.Standing in the darkness Ancelin tried to adjust her eyes.Occasionally, lightning lit up the room, and she could briefly see to move about.

“Ancelin,” Krevan whispered into her hair.

“What?”Ancelin yelled and whirled around.“You scared me to death.I can’t see at all.”Ancelin scolded him and peered up into his reflective eyes. His eyes no longer frightened her. When they mirrored back at her, they fascinated her. They were oddly attractive, enthralling.Ancelin realized she was not afraid of the powerful predator with whom she stood alone in the dark.

“I’m sorry, Ancelin.I should have lit a candle first.I didn’t realize it would be so dark.It slipped my mind that you couldn’t see.”Krevan lit five candles and set them around the kitchen countertops and two on the table where they were going to eat.

In the candlelight, the way it illuminated his face, he looked even more intimidating and gorgeous.Unidentified emotions made her insides squirm.“Okay, I can see now.”Ancelin sighed in relief.“The candles make it nice in here.Sit down and I’ll serve you your dinner.”Krevan complied, taking his seat at the table.Ancelin filled his plate with chicken pasta and sat it in front of him.

“Nice.”Krevan sighed, inhaling the aromatic food.“It looks and smells delicious.”

She handed him utensils and a cloth napkin she'd found in a drawer. She also made him a cup of coffee and placed it on the table beside his plate.

"Would you like cream or sugar in your coffee? How about a glass of water?"Ancelin was the perfect hostess.

"No, I'll have the coffee black, thank you.But I'll take a glass of water."

Ancelin brought him a glass of water. After serving Krevan, she prepared her own plate.

"Go ahead and start eating, Krevan.Don’t let it get cold. It’s best when it's hot.You don’t need to wait for me."

Krevan tasted the pasta and let out a satisfied breath."Ancelin, this is fantastic.Thank you."They ate quietly, with thunder rumbling, lightning flashing, and the candlelight flickering around them, creating a dreamlike ambiance. They watched each other closely as they dined.

"That was delicious," Ancelin said."I’ll make you a dessert once the storm passes.I love baking; it’s therapeutic for me."She gave him a sweet smile.

"This was a wonderful meal.I’ll really enjoy any dessert you make," Krevan replied with a smoldering tone.

Ancelin's mind buzzed with a mix of thoughts and feelings, both physical and emotional. He left her feeling tangled and tense. To shift her mindset, she quickly tried to change the mood."Well, I should clean up now."Ancelin gathered the dishes and utensils to take them to the sink.

"I'll handle the dishes since you made such a wonderful meal.Head to the living room and take a flashlight with you."Before she could respond, he had already left his chair.Krevan was up, out of his seat, and standing beside her at the sink.He kissed her cheek and handed her a flashlight."Thank you again, sweet girl. It's been almost six years since I enjoyed a homemade meal. What I make is nothing in comparison. It was fantastic. You're so thoughtful, and you're a beautiful woman."He gave her another gentle kiss on the cheek.Ancelin turned to return the gesture, but her lips met his instead. He tasted pleasantly of coffee.Ancelin's body relaxed into his, her mind racing as they kissed. She wanted to continue, but Krevan turned to the stove to gather the pot and skillet she'd used.Feeling his sudden absence, she gazed at his back.

Ancelin gathered the remaining dishes and moved toward Krevan, who stood with his back to her at the sink.Setting them on the counter, she paused.Outside, rain drummed against the windows while thunder rolled across the sky.Candlelight danced across the kitchen walls.Something in her chest tightened, then released. Before she could second-guess herself, she stepped forward and slid her arms around his waist, pressing her lips between his shoulder blades. His body tensed, then relaxed against hers.Through the thin fabric of his shirt, she felt the heat of him—solid and real. She inhaled deeply, catching the scent of soap and something uniquely him that made her pulse quicken.Months of loneliness dissolved in that moment of contact. Her fingers splayed across his abdomen, feeling the subtle rise and fall of his breathing. She knew she was crossing a line, inviting something dangerous and unknown, but as his hand covered hers, his thumb tracing small circles against her skin, she couldn't bring herself to pull away.

Krevan's body quivered with intensity.Suddenly, he turned, scooped her up with a tender strength, and set her on the countertop, positioning himself between her legs. With a bold move, Ancelin entwined her legs around his waist, drawing him closer. His kiss was fierce, igniting a fire within her she had never known.Ancelin surrendered to the fervor of his lips, losing her grasp on reality and control. She became enveloped in the sensuality, her senses overwhelmed, dazed by the encounter.Krevan's taste was an intoxicating blend of flavors, leaving her mind swirling and her entire being afloat in ecstasy.Every thought, every sensation, every sound was consumed by Krevan. As his hips moved rhythmically against hers, the motion entranced Ancelin, captivated by his seductive allure.

"Ancelin," Krevan murmured against her mouth, drawing back just enough to meet her eyes. His fingers trembled slightly at her waist."Upstairs.My room."The question hung in his gaze as his thumb traced her lower lip."If you want."The candlelight caught the flush spreading across his cheekbones, his composure fracturing with each shallow breath."I haven't...not for..."He swallowed hard, pressing his forehead to hers."There's something about you I can't—" His voice broke on the last word.

Once more, Ancelin's toes curled, heat flooding through her body like wildfire. She answered his question by capturing his mouth with hers, her lips parting in a gasp as he pulled her closer to him.The world spun—darkness—then she was sinking into soft sheets, his weight deliciously heavy against her curves. Her thighs instinctively cradled his hips, drawing him closer."I want you," Krevan growled against her throat."Tell me you want this too."Ancelin arched beneath him, her fingers tangling in his hair, tugging just hard enough to make him groan."I want more than sex," she breathed, her voice breaking as his hands explored her."I want connection—I want you to be my first—to mean something."Her confession hung between them, vulnerable and raw.

Krevan froze, his eyes suddenly intense in the darkness."Your first?"he whispered, his voice rough with desire and something deeper.

"Yes, but that's okay," she whispered, her breath catching as his weight pressed her deeper into the mattress."I've never felt this way before—like I'm burning from the inside out."Her fingers traced the ridges of muscle along his spine, each touch sending electricity through her fingertips."Please, don't stop."Her voice broke on the last word as he pressed a sweet kiss to the sensitive hollow of her throat.

Krevan suddenly tore himself away, standing beside the bed, his chest heaving with each ragged breath.Lightning flashed, illuminating the room in stark white, and Ancelin's breath caught in her throat.“We really should be careful kissing.”The storm revealed him inch by magnificent inch—broad shoulders tapering to narrow hips, skin pulled taut over muscle that seemed carved from marble. In that frozen moment of illumination, she saw the raw hunger in his eyes, a look that made her body tremble with answering need.

Eyes like a wolf gleamed at her in the dim light. With a firm grip on his substantial manhood, he stood beside the bed, observing her with an intensity that suggested he was bracing for her to flee.Yet, instead of fear, Ancelin felt a thrilling surge of excitement and longing.Rising gracefully to her knees, she slipped off her shirt and bra, her movements deliberately slow under his watchful gaze. Her breasts swayed freely, and she remembered his appreciative glances earlier in the bathroom when she had sought solace in his embrace. The anticipation sent delightful shivers through her.

Ancelin moved fluidly to the edge of the bed, stepping down to meet him.She basked in the warmth radiating from his body, a comforting heat that drew her closer. He was a living furnace, inviting and intense, and she longed to be enveloped by him. With a seductive confidence, she slid her pants down, discarding them with ease. His gaze never wavered, a silent testament to his desire.Undressed and unreserved, she leaned into him, wrapping her arms around his neck and shoulders, gently guiding his head to meet her lips.He offered no resistance, returning her kisses with fervor and passion.Ignoring his earlier words about not kissing, she poured herself into the moment. His taste was exotic, his kisses intoxicating, sending a heady rush through her. They made her feel dizzy. His large, warm hands explored her body, caressing her breasts with reverence, as he tenderly pinched her nipples, openly admiring the woman before him.

Ancelin's breath caught in her throat as his fingers traced her collarbone. Her skin prickled with goosebumps, and a pleasant warmth bloomed low in her belly. Each kiss left her dizzy, craving more of his touch, more of him. With graceful strength, Krevan eased her backward until she felt the softness of the mattress beneath her.He settled beside her, his weight creating a gentle depression that drew her closer to him.His fingertips brushed a strand of hair from her cheek, and he leaned close, his voice barely audible over the storm outside."Ancelin, I need to stop for a moment," he said, his thumb grazing her lower lip."My teeth...I don't want to hurt you."

With tentative curiosity, Ancelin reached out, her fingers brushing against his manhood, eliciting a deep, resonant groan from him.His arousal was undeniable, his erection firm and imposing, more than she had ever imagined. Her hand explored its length, marveling at the sensation akin to velvet over steel. As she traced her fingers over the surface, she discovered three pronounced ridges encircling near the tip, just beneath the prominent head. The unexpected texture intrigued her, and she caressed them with delicate curiosity.Krevan's breath hitched audibly, his body shivering under her touch.Sensing the sensitivity of these ridges, she continued to explore them with gentle intent.

"What are these?"she asked softly, her voice filled with wonder as she stroked him.

"These—" Krevan's voice caught as he gestured to the ridges that had appeared on his skin, "—filos only emerge when..."He drew a ragged breath, visibly struggling for composure."I won't hurt you.I can't.You're too precious."His fingertips hovered above her skin, trembling slightly."My teeth will change after we...mate.It's natural for my kind."His eyes, darkened with intensity, searched hers."I've never felt this way before."His lips found the hollow of her throat, the curve where neck meets shoulder, each touch reverent.

Ancelin was lost in a haze of bewilderment, yet at that moment, it didn't concern her.A tidal wave of desire surged through her, a tangible electricity humming between them. The sensation was unlike anything she had ever imagined, a heady intoxication of pure lust. The intensity was breathtaking.
