Kas didn’t have the energy to verbally articulate what was going on, so he simply pulled out his phone and showed his brother and cousin the same thing he’d seen inside the house… Yanna and Kalil’s locations were pinned at the same place.

“Oh shit,” Onyx and Quan responded in unison.

“Yea, so y’all niggas coming or not?”

“We damn sure ain’t letting you go by yourself,” Onyx replied, and with that, they peeled out of the driveway.

Kas’ Trackhawk bent the corner nearly on two wheels, entering the north Richmond neighborhood. He was aware 5thand Front Street was the area where Yanna was raised, but Kalil had no such ties to the community. So what the hell was he doing there withhisgirl? It was a stupid question because Kas already knew what was happening. His closest cousin and the girl he loved emphatically were fucking. The realization of such caused a pang to erupt in his chest. Venturing further down the block, that pain intensified, managing to heighten his anger as he spotted Yanna and Kalil near a bus stop bench. The conversation between the two looked heated, but it seemed they’d missed the climax of the quarrel. Calming down, Yanna nodded before she and Kalil embraced.

“Yea, I’mma fuck that nigga up,” Kas declared, rage blurring his vision as he screeched his truck a few feet away from the two betrayers.

The car was barely in park before Kas hopped out, startling Yanna and Kalil.

“Kas!” Onyx called his younger brother authoritatively, but to no avail. Kas was a man on a mission who couldn’t be stopped, pulling up his pants as he stalked up to Yanna and Kalil.

Yanna’s eyes were full of dread because she knew she and Kalil must’ve looked like secret lovers engaged in a forbidden exchange. With her hands outstretched, she scurried towards Kas.

“Kasra, wait, i-it’s not what you think. It’s not what it looks like.”

“Man, watch out.” Kas effortlessly shoved Yanna out of the way and struck his cousin with a right hook.

Kalil stumbled back, dazed from the blow, but was able to gain his bearing before he fell over completely. The metallic taste of blood filled his mouth, prompting him to spit a wad onto the sidewalk.

“Aye, Kas, I can understand shit looks like something other than what it is, so I’mma let you get that hit off. Don’t try that shit again, though.”

“Or what, Kalil? I promise I’ll beat yo muh’fuckin’ ass out here!”

“Kas, just stop. What is wrong with you?”

“What’s wrong withme? Shut the fuck up talking to me, you fucking bop. My cousin, Jaiyanna? You was so mad about some shit that never even happened that you fucked my cousin?!”

“Nigga, calm yo’ ass down for a second and realize it’s me you’re talking about!” Kalil demanded, squaring up with his cousin. “I mean, shedidget fucked, and Iwasin the room, but she wasn’t fucking me. You should know better than that shit. I would never do something like that to you.”

“What kind of shit y’all on, the fuck you mean you was in the room?” Onyx questioned.

“Man, it’s a long fucking story.”

“Really, Kas? That’s what you think of me? I know I make a lot of jokes, but you really think I’d fuck your cousin? Is that really how you view me?”

“You give me reason to view you any other way? Because yo ass is such a good girl, right? Why would I ever think you’re capable of some shit like this? I’m catching y’all muh’fuckas whispering on cameras and shit, and I’m not supposed to think y’all fucked?”

“Helloooo, are you listening, nigga? If you saw us whispering on camera then it must’ve been from Aunt Layla’s house a few days after we woke up naked next to each other.”

“What?!”

“Kalil, just please stop explaining, my nigga, you making the shit worse.”

“Let me just… okay.” Kalil steepled his hands in front of his face, taking a breath to calm his nerves so he could tell his side ofthe story. “You told me go check on Yanna at the club, I did, and we started talking about you. She was upset and drinking, niggas was touching all on her and shit, so I stuck around to look out. I look at Yanna like family, so I called myself being there for her. I had too much to drink, and so did she… amongst other things, we had way too much and ended up in the same hotel room.”

“This shit not making sense cuz,” Quan started. “Y’all was in the room with each other then who was fucking who?”

“I was fucking Nisha, and Yanna was with… someone else.”

“Y’all was having a fucking orgy?” Quan questioned with a wide leer. He was proud of his cousin. “Nigga, why you ain’t call me?”

“Quan, stop talking.” Onyx ordered.

“So, who was the nigga?” Kas interrogated, but no sooner than the question left his mouth did Destin come walking out of his mother’s house.
