“Shut up,” she snapped at him.
“Jaiyanna, bring yo ass cross this muh’fuckin’ parking lot!” Kas yelled. “Do that shit fast too, because I promise you don’t want me to come over there.”
“Ooh, bitch you gone get it,” Nisha instigated.
“10, 9, 8, 7…”
“Oh shit, girl, he counting.”
“Nisha, will you shut the hell up? I can hear.”
“Is that my nigga Kalil?!” Destin yelled across the parking lot. From pictures on social media, he knew Kalil was Kas’ cousin, but the two of them went back to their college days and had always been cool.
.
“Aye, nigga, don’t speak to nobody cross this muh’fucka!” Kas thundered back across the lot.
“Yea, that’s my cue. Des, go ‘head and carry yo ass home bruh. I’m too old for this shit, and if them lil’ niggas come over here tripping, I promise I’mma lay all three of ‘em out,” Dade informed. He was a former boxer, and it had been a while since he’d gotten any wreck off. The last time he’d been tasked with fighting three men at once, he’d sent the entire trio home bloodied.
“You’re right, you do look a little too old to be out here tossing out threats. Des, I’m good.”
“You sure?”
“I’m positive.”
Destin nodded, heading to his car with his brother and friends in tow. By that time, Kas had finished his countdown and was trekking across the parking lot.
“Kasra, stay over there. I’m coming, damn!”
“Why you still not moving?” Nisha questioned with a laugh.
“Because, girl, getting in trouble by your man is kind of scary, ain’t it?”
“I thought he wasn’t your man.”
“He’s not, but still.”
“You’re right, though, because I’m scared for you.”
“At the same time, it’s funny and I’m trying not to laugh because he might knock my head off.”
“You better hold that shit in. I’m about to go, text me tomorrow or something so I’ll know he ain’t bury you somewhere out in those sticks he lives in.”
“Girl, he’s not crazy for real. I’ll text you, though.”
Yanna took the time to give Nisha a parting hug before slowly walking to meet Kas halfway through the parking lot. Nisha, being the nosey person she was, stood by her car, not wanting to miss any drama that may unfold. When Yanna made it in front of Kas, he grilled her from her feet to her face. There was a small smirk resting at the corner of Yanna’s mouth, and it was taking all of Kas’ might to keep his frustration in check.
“Who the fuck was that?”
“W-why you asking about him?” Yanna questioned, the fury in Kas’ eyes causing her speech to falter.
“W-Who the fuck is he?” Kas repeated, mocking her stuttering. “I’m asking because I want to know.”
Quan’s goofy ass was now standing there and tried hard to contain his laughter, but Kas mocking Yanna had been too funny.
Yanna rolled her eyes at Quan before responding. “He’s my friend.”
“Friend that you fucking?”
