“I was just saying.”

“Shut up, Troi. That was then, and this is now. Like I said, the shit is just okay.”

“Really, Yanna? Justokay? That’s yo final answer?”

“Yes it is, Regis.”

“Aight, bet, fuck you too then.” Kas used his foot to push Yanna’s chair away from him, catching her off guard and causing her to stumble a bit.

“Can’t stand your dumb ass, I swear,” Yanna proclaimed as she stood from the chair and stomped her way into the house.

“How she gone be mean as hell and sensitive at the same time?”

“She’s a female,” Onyx answered with a shrug.

“Excuse you?” Troi turned to Onyx with his eyebrow raised.

“Not you though, Baby.”

“Mhmm.”

“Fuck,” Kas cursed, standing from the chair and stretching before ambling his way toward the house.

Troi scrunched her brows together, not believing her eyes. “I know your ass not following her into the house.”

“Hell yea, I am, sis. Not a fan of letting my Yanna boo be mad at me. I kiss ass!” Kas called over his shoulder.

“Take that shit to yo own house!” Onyx demanded just before Kas disappeared.

CHAPTER SEVEN

Shaking off unwanted emotion, Yanna trudged her way through Troi and Onyx’s house and out the front door. She sighed in frustration when she reached the outside. Feelings like these were what she tried hard to avoid. At the moment, she wanted nothing more than to get in her vehicle and get the hell out of there. Yanna would never admit it out loud, but seeing Yasmine’s video bothered her. The moment she opened the video and saw the smirk on Yasmine’s face, and Kas’ satisfied smile exiting behind her, she experienced a feeling she’d never faced before. Her heart met her bottom, and her stomach twisted in discomfort. She couldn’t place what the feeling was, but she knew she never wanted to feel it again. From the very first time Kas had lied about chilling with his friends but was actually with a girl, her defenses had gone up. They’d only known each other for a few days at the time, which meant he owed her nothing and had no reason to lie to her. Lying when you didn’t even have to was a huge red flag. Yanna already had a hard time opening up to any man, and she felt like things between her and Kas had progressed way too quickly. She was trying to coach herself into going with the flow because it worked out for Troi and Onyx. Besides, she liked him, so shefigured she could let his transgression go, something she usually didn’t do. However, just like a nigga, Kas showed her she’d been foolish to try and trust him. There had been other instances of Kas being sneaky, most involving Yasmine. Yanna had long ago lost count of the amount of times Kas promised he was different, urging her to trust him more. They’d had several conversations about him only wanting to be with her, but tragically for Kas, Yanna wasn’t so easily persuaded. He’d fooled her once, and that one was on him. Yanna wasn’t the type you could fool twice, but somehow Kas had managed to get that one off too. She wouldn’t allow him a third. Purging Kas from her life was much easier said than done, however. Right on cue, the door to the house opened, and Kas hurried outside, stopping short when he noticed her standing there. Yanna couldn’t help but admire his features, body tingling involuntarily as his tongue swiped his pink bottom lip. Her eyes roamed to his shirtless chest, admiring how the gold, diamond encrusted WCMG chain complimented his yellow toned skin.

Catching her off guard, Kas snatched her keys from her hand. “Kasra, please. I don’t feel like playing with you.”

“Ain’t nobody playing, come to the house.”

Kas didn’t bother giving her time to protest, simply led the way to his home, ascended his steps and punched in the code to enter. As soon as she crossed the threshold, she unstrapped her Lucite heels and tossed them in the corner of the foyer. There was a pair ofTory Burchslides amongst the pairs of shoes, and she slipped her feet into those.

“You hungry or something?”

“You just sat and watched me eat at Troi and Onyx’s. Plus, I’m going home. I only let you drive me because I didn’t feel like you making a scene in the parking lot.”

“You not about to drive all the way home, so you might as well get comfortable.” Kas toed off his shoes then waltzed into his living room. Like he expected, Yanna was fresh on his heels.

“Come on, I don’t feel like playing with you. You pissed me off, and I want to go home.”

“I pissed you off because I made up some kids? Who gives a fuck if that nigga thinks you have kids or not. You was never gone see him after tonight anyway.”

“You don’t know that,” Yanna stated with a smirk.

“Oh, I knew.”

When it came to Yanna entertaining other men, Kas would run interference every time. That night had been a good one because he didn’t completely show his ass. If Yanna tried him on a good night, he’d be with the shits, and though aggravated, she was thankful he hadn’t taken it there.

“And you like playing stupid, but you know damn well I’m not mad about that stupid shit you pulled.”

“Well, we gone talk the shit out until you not mad at all then.” Kas sat her car keys down on his coffee table but just as quickly scooped them back up when he noticed her eyeing them.
