“You’re cute now, but he’s way out of your league,” Shirley growls.

The door pushes open, and Santo stands there, clearing his throat.

“This is the woman’s bathroom!” the omega speaking to me squeals, turning to face him.

“I believe you’re keeping my girl from exiting. Move your ass out of her way,” Santo says. “Honestly, what is with women and the goddamned bathroom.”

Stifling a smile, I move around Shirley, taking Santo’s offered arm.

“If you’re giving her shit for the ring, you should know that Levon fucks me every night too,” Santo adds, escorting me out of the room.

“You had to say that, didn’t you?” I ask, grinning.

“Oh yeah. She will be complaining about that for ages,” he says, his voice lowering as we walk back to the table. I have cheesecake to finish, after all. “If it ever makes it to the tabloids, Levon won’t bat an eye. That man will stand in front of the media and happily proclaim that he’s bisexual.”

“I have no doubt that he would,” I admit.

It sounds as if Levon’s PR team is behind him on his choices for his pack, and even if the media does latch onto it, it’ll get handled.

Santo pulls out his phone as we get closer, his brows drawing down.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, concerned.

“My dad is calling me,” he says. “Come with me to talk to him. I don’t want you to walk alone.”

“It’s not that far,” I murmur, following him to a corner. He holds me close to him as he answers the phone. A part of me loves that he’s so possessive and careful.

“Hola papá,” Santo greets his father. “Todo bien?”

I relax against him as he speaks, until I hear my name. Dropping my head back, I gaze up at him, brow raised. Santo winks at me, shifting to English.

“Caelia is with me now,” he says. “We just proposed to her. Mmhmm. Yes, I’ll let you congratulate your soon to be daughter-in-law.”

He hands me the phone as I gasp, and he urges me to take it, appearing smug as fuck. Ugh, I’m definitely going to be tying him to the headboard. I won’t let him touch his dick tonight.

“Hello, this is Caelia,” I say, feeling silly for being so formal.

“Caelia, hello,” replies a booming voice that’s slightly accented. “I’m Alejandro Diaz. Congratulations on getting engaged. That’s wonderful news. I’m glad that I can add to it tonight.”

“Add to it?” I ask, wondering what he means by that.

“Yes, it seems that Friedrick Olsson has overreached in his contract’s terms regarding his non-compete clause,” Mr. Diaz states. “In New Orleans, you have to state what places the ex-employee cannot work specifically, and he failed to do that. Simply saying the entire country doesn’t cut it. He also can’t bar you from working with another hockey team either. Quite frankly, you’re free to do whatever the fuck you want in Nashville. Mr. Olsson can’t keep you from it.”

“What if I’m doing some sort of content and I’m back in New Orleans?” I ask worriedly. It’s an odd thing to be concerned about, but I’ve had the rug pulled out from under me enough times to ask.

“He didn’t even say that in the non-compete,” Mr. Diaz chuckles. “It’s overly vague, which means it’s useless.”

“Oh that’s amazing,” I breathe. It gives me a lot of hope that I’ll be able to find another job when I’m ready. “Thank you so much for telling me and working on this at all.”

“I thoroughly enjoy ripping smug assholes apart,” he reassures me. “I look forward to meeting you. I have a trip bringing me to Nashville soon.”

“That’s wonderful. I look forward to it.”

Santo takes the phone back and says goodbye before kissing me.

“How do you feel?” he asks happily.

“Really good,” I confess. “Tonight is one of the best nights of my life. I’m still edging you though.”
