Yes, that’s exactly what I was just thinking.
“Alright then,” I giggle. Glancing over the menu, I choose what I want, even though it all sounds amazing. Miles glances up from his menu and winks at me, making me blush.
The waiter is professional, nice, and takes all of our orders.
“Anything to drink?” he asks with a smile at me once I order.
“Just water, please. I don’t really drink,” I admit.
“What about a mocktail?” he asks. “We have a few that taste delicious without the alcohol. There’s a lot of reasons people don’t drink.”
Agreeing, I ask him to surprise me, and he nods as he takes away the menus. The sun is setting around us and I can’t get over how beautiful it is.
“Nashville looks good on you,” Miles says. “I know there’s been a lot of changes. How are you doing?”
“I… Is it odd if I say surprisingly well?” I ask. “I used to live here for school, and Dad is being really good about messaging me now that he’s out of the hospital.”
“You adapt absurdly well to change,” Santo says. “Not in a bad way, it’s just enough to make anyone else roll up into a ball and not want to do anything.”
“I guess? I was traveling with Dad on the road, and I didn’t spend too much time in New Orleans to make it feel like that was home,” I explain. “Before this, I grew up in Minnesota. I’m not that girl who has lived in the same place my whole life.”
“I lived in Minnesota until I got traded, but I grew up in the south,” Miles admits. “I actually love living here, despite the traffic.”
Santo snort laughs at that. “God, the traffic is a nightmare here. If I can help it, I hitch a ride with Levon.”
“He makes a real cute passenger princess for someone who enjoys control,” Levon chuckles.
“Speaking of which…” Santo says mischievously. “You’re on edging duty, Levon.”
“Woah, seriously? Why?” he asks.
“Santo dunked me in freezing cold water,” I tattle, grinning at them as I remember how much I complained.
“I heard her,” Miles chuckles. “Cold water is mean. I let it warm up.”
“You told us we had to get the lead out,” Santo teases.
“Not at the detriment of our omega,” Miles says as if it was more than just cold water.
Dinner is filled with laughter and teasing, but the guys look a little nervous as dessert is served.
“Why do you look so weird?" I ask, making Levon snicker.
“This is why we have to be sneaky away from you,” he says. “You’ve figured out our tells.”
Blushing, I shrug as I pick up my fork and cut off a bite of rich chocolate cheesecake. I was really craving this after my savory meal of mussel and clam risotto that was absolutely delicious.
“So, what’s the secret?” I ask, wrapping my lips around the fork and pulling off my bite of cake.
The guys watch me eat as if it’s a legit orgasmic experience, and Miles purrs at the sight.
“Fuck, you’re sexy,” he mutters. “As you know, I joined Santo’s pack. Everyone does their own thing in regards to welcoming their omega to their pack, but we wanted to do something special.”
“You deserve the world,” Santo says.
“You’re one of my favorite parts of my day,” Levon adds. “Snuggling you between Santo and I makes all my stress melt away.”
What are they doing?
