She put her hands out and shrugged.

"Okay, Kit. I won't bring it up again. It's your life."

I nodded, picking up more things to take with me.

"Thank you for understanding."

I grabbed my handbag and threw it into one of the boxes.

The gun was still hidden in the zipper compartment. I didn't need it now that Atlas and I were together.

I had no other stalkers who were a threat, so I wasn't concerned. Johnny was released, but Atlas told me he would pay him a visit and tell the loser to stay away from me. I know how scary Atlas is, so I am sure he made quite an impression, and I would never see the scumbag again.

It was 12:15. I needed to wrap it up so I wouldn’t be late getting back to my very bossy boyfriend.

I smiled.Boyfriend.

I liked the sound of it. Becca helped me put most of the boxes in the trunk. The last thing I needed to bring was Tuna boy. We went back into the house to grab the cat.

When we walked into the kitchen, two people with masks were standing near the door. I stopped dead in my tracks, putting my arm out to shield Becca. It was an instant reflex to protect her. My heart skipped a beat, and my hands instantly became clammy as I steeled myself against a possible attack.

I left my gun in the trunk…shit!

"Who the fuck are you?" I spat.

Before I could ask more questions, the two charged towards me and Becca. My friends' screams pierced my ears, making the hair on my arms stand up. Chills traveled along my spine as my heart thudded in my chest.

"What the fuck is happening, Kit?"

Becca looked terrified, and for goodreason.

The two masked intruders couldn’t be good people, that’s for sure. Beck and I were screwed. Before I could answer my friend, she was stuck with a syringe and immediately collapsed to the floor.

Whatever drug that was in that needle worked quickly. A set of evil eyes burned into mine. I felt sick to my stomach. I knew we were in deep, deep shit. Before I could react, the needle went into my arm.

I wasn’t sure who they were, but maybe they had something to do with my boyfriend, so I threw his name out there.

"Fuck you. Atlas will kill you for this!" I sneered.

The cold eyes stared at me. A low whisper permeated my ears. "Not sure who you’re talking about, but you and your little friend are going far, far away, so thisAtlasperson will never find you. Oh, and here's a little advice before darkness takes over. You'll both need thick skin to withstand what's in store for you."

Then everything went black.

Epilogue

Kitlyn

The last thing I remember was being stuck with a needle; then everything went dark. I remember the words spoken to me before I passed out.

You and your friend are going far, far away.

I shook my head, trying to focus. I was still fuzzy from the drug. My teeth chattered as I shivered uncontrollably. I was covered in goosebumps. The air was cold and damp.

How long have I been out?

When I finally got my bearings, I realized I was in a cell. I was lying on a hard mattress covered by a dingy sheet, resting on the concrete floor. The lighting was low and dismal.
