Mike huffs, glaring at me, and South shoves at his back, “You heard her. Get a move on,” South says with a shake of his head, ushering Mike away from us and out the door. North’s fingertips trace my cheek and then brushes over my lips. I bite at the air, and he tilts his head sideways.

“Tsk. Tsk. Remember little fox, you agreed to this.” His finger waves in front of my face and my teeth chomp in the direction of his finger again.

“True, but I didn’t agree to being nice about it,” I snap, without remorse.

“Even better.” North smiles and his teeth sink into his bottom lip. “I’m going to enjoy this.”

My curiosity gets the better of me. “What?”

“Wrecking such a beautiful thing,” he muses and my body aches to be touched by him. I want to scream at the top of my lungs knowing he is the reason I feel like this. He’s infuriating, and somehow the cat and mouse game we are playing makes me want him even more. Maybe I hit my head really hard, and I don’t remember. A concussion would explain why I agreed to this. I should have let Mike get his ass beat, but I would have never forgiven myself. Mike has a big mouth, but he does not know how to fight at all. “Be nice or don’t, either way will have the same outcome—Your legs wrapped around me as I taste every inch of you.”

“That’ll never happened,” I breathlessly answer him, and heat rises to my face.

“Don’t lie to yourself, Delayni.” He leans down and whispers against my ear. “I see your skin flushing. I’m getting to you, and I bet if I slid my hand into that sweet mound of yours that your soaked.”

“Not for you. As far as you’re concerned my vagina is the driest desert on the face of the planet,” I hiss.

“Don’t lie to yourself. It’s pointless. I know the truth as much as you do. If I bent you over this table, right here, right now, you wouldn’t stop me. Would you?” North says in a thick voice just above a whisper and his hand creeps down my spine and his fingers hook through the belt loops of my jeans, jerking me against the rock-hard bulge in his pants.

I whimper. I actually freaking whimper. I should not want him, but his dirty words and the way he said my name is too much to handle. My lips don’t move. My body might be a trader, but I refuse to give him the satisfaction of answering. My hips move slowly against him to the beat of the song playing from the speakers.

“That’s right, little fox, show me what you want.” He rocks harder against me. Sliding one of his hands up my back and twisting it into my hair. He pushes me forward with the other hand. My palms fly out and smack onto the green felt that has red dots splattered across its surface.

Someone clears their throat at the other end of the table and my body freezes. Shit! I am so out of it I didn’t think about doing what we are in public. The thrills of someone catching you is one thing, but this place is extraordinary full for a Thursday evening.

My eyes slowly lift to a brown pair of slacks secured under a big round belly with a belt. I don’t need to look any higher to know who is staring at us. It’s Manny, the owner of Balls. “First you get blood on my table and now you’re going to screw on it? What has gotten into you, Delayni?” he asks, his eyebrows furrowing together.

“I. Um. I didn’t—” My words blubber out of my mouth, and I want to die. There is no telling how far I would have let this go if he hadn’t come over to us.

“How much?” North growls.

“Excuse me?” Manny asks and his eyes blink rapidly.

When I lift my fingertips off the table, North’s palm lands in the dip of my lower back. “Don’t move.”

I should run. Now’s my chance, but something tells me if I did, he would find me.

“How much is it going to cost me to replace the table and for you and everyone else to clear the fuck out of here?”

“I don’t know. I mean. I can’t do that. These are paying customers, Sir.”

“If you don’t make this deal with me, there will be consequences.” pulls his gun from behind his back and sets it on the felt beside my hands.

“I can’t just clear everyone out of here in a few seconds. It’ll take a little bit of time.” Manny explains.

North grabs the gun, points it above Manny’s head and fires. A loud crack rings through Balls and the rafter over Manny splinters. A few girls scream and then people scramble toward the exit. “There. Problem solved. Now get. The. Fuck. Out!”

After only a little time passes, everyone, including Manny, is gone. North and I are alone in the bar. It is amazing how people react to a gun shot when they aren’t used to hearing them.

My back attempts to straighten and North’s fingertips slip under my shirt and dig into my sides. “I said stay.”

“You can’t possibly think that after all of that anything is going to happen between us.”

“Delayni, I don’t think. I know. I’m going to lick your pussy for as long and as hard as I please right here on this table.” He pins me onto the table and my head instinctively turns to the side, my cheek laying on the green and red felt.

“Turn over.”

I don’t move.
