All children had to be evacuated because the moment any of them came into contact with his pheromones, they’d drop dead. People have to walk around in gas masks, and sometimes even that isn’t strong enough. All of this stems from the fact that he’srefusing to bed any of the apparently thousands of lovers in his harem to ease his rut.

I feel so sorry for the man because even though I’ve never met him, I can tell by his screeches he’s in excruciating pain, and whoever this Jessica is, he yearns for her.And when he gets to her, he’s going to do some damage.

When I feel my babies flip in my belly, I smile, gently humming to calm them down, wondering what my parents will say when I finally pop up and they see they have grandchildren. I swallow the lump in my throat, praying that I get to see them again and the lockdown ends soon for everyone.

I close my eyes, sighing, head spinning, but it lifts when I hear the doorknob twist, and I sit up to see Slater, Yamir, and Enzo standing in the door, looking bloodied and haggard as per usual. But I don’t care how many times I’ve seen it. It hurts my soul to see them so battered and bruised.

In the first month or so of the lockdown, the pain and anxiety of seeing them like that had me passing out and on bed rest. It was too much to bear, and the destruction that man caused to not only his kingdom, but my mates had me hating him.Even though he’s a victim, I couldn’t help it.

Who wants to see the people they love literally broken? Sometimes, they would be beaten up so badly they didn’t come home out of fear that I would freak out and hurt the babies, but our babies are too strong for all of that, and I have to be strong for them even if this is a time of uncertainty.

Standing, I try to go over to them, but they beat me to it, getting to me so fast I can’t see them even with my enhanced vision since becoming their mate.

“MAMA!” they whimper, hugging me lightly, making sure not to crush our babies.

“I missed y’all.” I blink back tears, and they kiss me all over.

“We missed you more,” Yamir hums, grabbing my face before rubbing my belly, looking me over, while Enzo and Slater pull off my clothes and inspect my body like they do every night they come home.

“You guys can stop doing this now. Lust never gets in here. You’ve locked this place down like an impenetrable fortress,” I chuckle dryly, but that doesn’t stop them from inspecting me.I sometimes think they have more anxiety than I do.

“We can’t risk your health, Mama. You still have the Banesroot in your system, and your body is draining the antidote faster than we can provide it, since your body is working hard to detox the effect in the babies.” Enzo drops to his knees, placing his hands on my belly, eyes shining in awe, and I smile, running my hands through his now long hair, trying to comfort him.

“I’m serious, I’m okay, you all stop worrying.”

“But this has never happened… it should never be possible for Cerberus to be birthed. We’re created from hellfire, not born. We don’t know how tonotworry about you or the babies.” Slater places a large hand on my belly as well, and as if they know their fathers are here, they thumb against their hands. The way their eyes light up, you’d think Hell opened up, and the Banesroot has left my system, but this is the greatest joy to them.

It makes me recall when I told them I was pregnant. The utter fear and shock on their faces was something I’m glad I hid a dragon orb to record. I still remember how they fell to their knees looking at my stomach in awe.

“I still can’t believe we’re going to be fathers.” Enzo shudders out a shaky breath, kissing my belly, placing his bloody head on it.

“Well, believe it because I think these babies will be coming soon,” I tell them, groaning, stepping back when I feel one of the babies kick my pelvis. “Ugh!” I wince and flop back in bed.

“Are you okay, Mama? Should we get your doctor?” Slater cups my face, and I shake my head.

“I’m okay, just tired,” I sigh, yawning.

“Are you sure? You’ve been sleeping more over the past month.” Yamir frowns and I chuckle, raising a brow.

“Well, you brew a litter of literal mythical pups that have never existed in history while in a Hell that is on fire with a mad King who’s going crazy while your husbands go out and fight him only to come home after getting their asses kicked by one man.” I purse my lips, and their jaws drop.Jesus, what is my life?!

“A-ass kicked?!” Enzo sneers, and I cock my head.

“Did I stutter?” I hold back a laugh.

“Lord Lust looks just as bad!” Yamir growls, and I raise a brow, snorting skeptically.

“Really now?” I ask, and they hold their heads down, tails limp, whining.

“No,” they say in unison, making me burst out laughing. Their tails start wagging, and they leap on me, attacking me with kisses.

“I’ll have you know I scraped his knee today!” Enzo defends himself, and I do my absolute best not to laugh at my baby’s efforts.

“You are so disrespectful,” Slater growls with a sexy smirk on his face that has me growing hot.

“B-but I’m only being honest,” I laugh as they tickle me.

“Well, learn to lie.” Enzo huffs, cupping my chin, while Yamir pulls me close.
