“Damn,” he whispered. “What’s yours?”

“Shanti.”

His head twitched. “What’s that?”

“It means peace. What’s yours?”

“Oklahoma.”

She’d admit hers was unique, but his? “Have you been there?”

“No.”

Her brow furrowed. “Then why’d you pick it?”

After a slight hesitation, he finally answered. “Johnny Knoxville used it as his safe word in Jackass.”

“Jackass? I have no idea what that is.”

Cam chuckled. “Maybe it’s for the best.”

“Got it. As a former cop, I assumed you were either a Dom or leaned toward the more dominant side. Am I wrong?”

“I’m pretty flexible. It all depends on who I’m with. Do you prefer to be submissive?”

“No.”

He blinked. “No?”

Hope tipped her head to the side. “Did you expect me to say yes because I’m a woman?”

“No…I…No.” He groaned. “Yes. Sorry.” He lifted alet-me-explainfinger. “But not because you’re a woman; because you seem to be more of a”—he waved a hand around—“free spirit. A gentle soul, if you will. Please take that as a compliment and not an insult.”

“Unlike you, who had no problem cuffing people duringyour career?”

“Just because I did it for my job, doesn’t mean I enjoy doing it in my down time.”

“Good to know.”

“But it also doesn’t mean Idon’tlike to do it in my down time.” He shot her a toothy grin. “If you want to be cuffed and stuffed, I’ll gladly do that without complaint.”

“And ifyoulike to be cuffed and stuffed, I will gladly do that as well.” As well as plenty of other things.

“Okay, then. How about we move this conversation into the bedroom?” He held out a hand toward the only bedroom in the cabin.

“I figured tonight would be pretty tame. I’m starting to believe it’ll be the opposite.”

“You do know where we are right now, right?” he asked as he followed her into his bedroom.

“Your cabin?”

“Welcome to Double D Ranch, the adults-only ranch resort where your fantasies become reality. Unpack, unwind, and get uninhibited,” he recited.

“Hmm.”She tapped her lips with her finger. “I think I’ve heard that somewhere before…”

He chuckled. “Haven’t we all?”

She stopped in the middle of his bedroom and glanced around. It wasn’t huge, but it was neat and organized. Nothing had been left out. He was most likely someone who liked everything to have its place.
