Staring at him in total shock and awe, I watched as he pulled his phone out and made a call for a cleanup. While he was on the phone, he pointed at the bathroom door and mouthed for me to wash my ass. Honestly, I was confused as hell, but I found myself moving and doing what the nigga asked. Though I didn’t believe that Xyleek would kill me, when he got like this, he was capable of anything. This wasn’t even Sleep that I was witnessing, it was just the extremely jealous side of Xy. When I walked back out of the bathroom, it was two niggas I’d never seen before putting Rod’s body in a body bag.

“Did you brush your teeth and wash your face, too? I don’t want that nigga DNA on you or me.”

Blowing out a frustrated breath, I rolled my eyes and stepped back into the bathroom to clean my face up. By the time I came back out, the men were gone, and so was Rod’s body.

“Are you at least going to make sure his body is found?”

He looked at me like I disgusted him. “That’s yo nigga or something?”

“Xyleek. He has a family.”

“So do you. And you left your family so that you could come up to DC and get your pussy ate by someone else. You didn’t even look like you were enjoying it, Angel,” his fingers brushed against my cheek. “Nobody makes you enjoy getting that clit sucked on like I do, so I don’t even know why you bothered. You ready to go?”

“I’m not leaving Raven.”

“Raven knows that you’re leaving with me, I already spoke to her,” he collected my duffel bag and purse. “She’ll be driving herself home in the morning. C’mon, Angel.”

I hesitated for a minute before reminding myself that Xyleek really would never hurt me. Rolling my eyes again, I stomped out of the room but instead of going to the elevators, I went straight to Rae’s room. He might’ve talked to her, but I needed tohear it straight from the horse’s mouth. Plus, I needed to see that she was okay. If he had just killed Rod, then there was a chance he killed her too for being involved in my shenanigans.

Rae opened the door with a knowing smirk while shaking her head. “I told you that shit was a bad idea.”

“How the fuck was I supposed to know he was in my room?”

“As possessive, obsessive, lovesick, and well connected as that nigga is, you knew he was coming for you,” she giggled and peeked down the hall at Xy, who was standing near the elevators with a mug. “You better go before he beats yo ass.”

I waved my hand in his direction. “Fuck him. Are you okay?” I looked behind her but didn’t see the nigga from the club. “Where ya boy go?”

“Xyleek scared him off, but I wasn’t really tryna fuck him anyway. Ima sleep this alcohol off and then head out in the morning.”

“Are yousure? I really don’t feel comfortable leaving you here by yourself when I’m the one who made you come in the first place.”

“Dreka, I’ll be fine.”

Gnawing on my bottom lip, I shook my head and marched back in Xy’s direction. “We’re not leaving Rae here by herself.”

“She said she was gon’ be straight,” he looked at me with annoyance seeping into his facial features.

“I don’t give a fuck what she said!Isaid we’re not leaving her. I’m staying in the room with her, so we will see you in the morning,” I reached for my things, but the nigga had the nerve to back up. “Xy, give me my shit.”

“You’re staying in the room withher?!” He laughed so hard, and it was that unhinged, you lost your fuckin’ mindlaugh that he did when he was two seconds away from losing his shit. “Youhad me running around Virginia looking for yo muthafuckin’ ass while you was up here about to let another nigga put some dickin you, and you think I’m ‘bout to let you out of my sight? Drek, you got me fucked up. Dead ass. I’m really tryna keep my cool witchu, but you making that shit hard. You not sleeping in no fuckin’ room with Rae.”

“Nigga, you not telling me where I can and can’t sleep!” I brushed right over the fact that I was about to get my back cracked by another man. Shit, Xy did it, faithfully, so why couldn’t I?

“I just did!” His thunderous voice bounced off the walls.

I laughed and pinched my nose. “You think ‘cause you raise yo voice, I’m supposed to….what? Do what the fuck you say? Xyleek, yougotmefucked up!”

“Drek,” Rae’s soft voice came from behind me. I completely forgot her ass was there because I was ready to pounce on Xy.

I looked over my shoulder at her. “Yeah?”

“Remember what we talked about.”

Rolling my eyes so hard at her, I released a deep sigh. Just the night before, she told me I needed to at least hear Xyleek out since I knew he told me the truth that day in his office. The thing was, I really didn’t want to. It was easier for him to be the villain than to do right in my eyes. Being the villain was what he was good at. Being faithful to me? That’s where he couldn’t keep it together, so it unnerved me that maybe, just maybe, this time he was getting it right.

Slowly turning back to face him, he was staring at me with a mix of frustration, hope, anger, and sadness. I hated and loved this nigga so damn bad. His chest was rising and falling quick, and his jaw was tight, so I knew he was on the verge of poppin’ off even worse.

“I’m not staying in that room, so you need to book us another one,” I grumbled, kicking at the ground. “We will all leave in the morning. I’m not leaving my best friend here, Xyleek, and that’s final.”
