As I was coming around again, Paulie and Jimmy were locked in a contest to see who could get their tongues into the other’s throat first. Now that I was getting a little more coherent, I could tell who was who. Jimmy was shorter, probably no more than five nine. He had dark, silky hair, still wet from the shower. He was built thick and had a dark full beard.

Paulie, on the other hand, had lighter hair. He was taller and slimmer, cleanly shaven. They made a nice looking couple if you looked at them objectively. The live porn show would have been great if they hadn’t kidnapped me and maybe hurt or killed Crow.

Nope. Wasn’t going to think about that.

Eventually, they remembered I was there, and Paulie put the gun back on me.

“Time to move, sleeping beauty. Get in the bathroom.” He swung the gun in that direction. “Move, pretty boy.”

I struggled to my feet, then had to hold the bedside table for a second to get my balance. I was thankful they weren’t assholes and gave me the time I needed.

“All right, if you have it together, go on in. I left the extra towels in there. You can dry the tub and lie down. Sorry, but I’m gonna have to cuff you to the faucet handle. No hard feelings, man. I don’t know anything about you and got no problem with you. Don’t cause no problems and you won’t have none from us, okay?”

“Paulie’s right, son. We don’t want any problems. We’re in a tight spot if we don’t get you where they want you.”

I didn’t answer, just shuffled into the bathroom like they said and sat in the tub. Paulie was holding the gun, so Jimmy was the one who cuffed me to the faucet. He did make sure I could reach the toilet if I needed to go. They were decent guys for the most part, aside from the whole kidnapping thing, that is. I was playing the part of the docile captive for now, just until I could get my head together and think up a plan. There was no way in hell I was going to show up where I was sure they were supposed to take me. I couldn’t bank on Crow helping me out of this jam. I had no idea if he was still alive, or if he knew how to find me if he was. I was on my own. When I left home, I swore I’d never go back as long as Terrence was there, and I meant to keep that vow.
