“Are you fucking kidding me? Who is in our house?” I growl as Violet comes strutting down the hallway in nothing but shorts, no shirt, and no bra. I look at her, then at my brother, and narrow my eyes. I rear back and punch him in the face. His head whips to the side, and I hit him again. “You’re a real fucking piece of shit! How could you do that to Presley after everything that happened?” I scream, and Caspian comes running up the stairs and stops in his tracks, taking in the scene. Brax shakes his head and blinks a few times, then looks at Violet, then at me and his twin.
“I-I—” he goes to say, and I shove him.
“Fuck you! We don’t have time for this!” I spit, walking past him and Caspian.
“Fucking deal with it. I’m going to find Harley!” I growl, stomping down the stairs and heading out the front door.
I need to get to Harley before the fucking cops do. Fuck!
Chapter 22
Presley
“Here, take these. It will take the edge off. We have a long night ahead of us,” Kayla says, handing me a few pills. I’m not new to drugging myself for parties but I’ve never seen these little round blue pills before.
“Did you get them from Demon?” I ask, and she raises a brow.
“How do you know Demon?” she giggles.
“Um, I buy from him. This life isn’t new to me, ” I tell her and she clicks her tongue.
“Interesting. I like his little nickname for you, what is it again? Gumdrop?” she states, and my eyes widen. How the hell does she know that?“From the look on your face, it seems you are in shock, and I bet you have a lot of questions, ” she purrs, taking her fingernail and moving my hair away from my eye.
“I don’t know what you mean? He’s always called me Gumdrop. He has nicknames for everyone,” I lie, but this girl sees right through it.
“He doesn’t for me and we are a little more acquainted than most. So you’re not his girl?” she asks, and I shake my head.I school my features because that bitch jealousy wants to rear her damn head at her statement.
“Why would you think I was his girlfriend? I belong to Jacob Lee,” I say as bile creeps up my throat from the words that just left my lips. It’s not a lie, but saying it out loud makes it more real then it needs to be. I know Caspian and the others will never forgive me for the things that have happened, so why bother fighting for my freedom. I wish I could tell them the truth. Just tell them everything. Maybe I’d still have a chance at forgiveness, but I can’t hold out for that. I don’t know when I’m getting out of here—if I ever will—so what is the fucking point? It’s not like I have a phone that I could text Beast on. I know he was there the night they took me from the house after I tried to kill myself. I couldn’t ask Axel anything when we were together, it’s not like he would tell me. Spitting on me along with his harsh words was enough of a message that he hates me. So I have no idea what is going on–on the outside.
I’m just here with this girl I don’t fucking trust. She’s nice enough, but there’s just something about her I don’t like. I haven’t figured it out just yet but I will soon enough.
“He said you were his girl. Guess he didn’t get the memo, huh? He’s fun to play with but that’s about it.” She giggles again, and I want to roll my eyes. Her high pitched laugh makes me grit my teeth. It’s like nails on a chalk board. My god.
“I’m not sure why he would tell you that, but maybe he’s got the wrong girl,” I reply, but she shakes her head, putting a blonde wig over my head. It’s extremely long, hitting the top of my ass as I sit at a vanity getting ready for the night. She also gave me a leather crop top that has nipple slits cut out of the cups with a black thong and garter belt. She picks up the comb, fixing my bangs so they are out of my face.
“Hazel or blue contacts?” she asks, changing the subject, thank god.
“Blue,” I answer as she steps away, going to the closet behind us, opening the drawer and bringing me brand new contacts.
“Put those in and we will work on your make up. Then I’ll introduce you to Johnny. That’s who you will be with tonight,” she tells me, and I nod as she kneels in front of me, sliding the fishnet thigh high stockings up my legs and attaching the cotton to the garter strings. Her fingers linger between my thighs and my eyes snap to hers. “You ever been with a girl before?” she asks, and I shake my head.
“Not willingly,” I answer truthfully, and she laughs.
“I’d love to taste you one day,” she replies with a wink. What the fuck?I ignore her flirting and pop the contacts in my eyes. The burn has me blinking and thanking the gods above that we did this first, otherwise my mascara would be running down my face. “Alright, you look absolutely fuckable already. Remember out there you will be whatever they want you to be. These men and women pay top dollar to see you and be with you for the night,” she tells me, and I nod. This is nothing new to me. I know how to play the part.
“I understand. I won’t disappoint you,” I tell her, and she smiles.
“I know you won’t. Let’s get your face on so I can bring you to Johnny. He’s probably waiting on us,” she says, and we get to work.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I barely recognize who I see, which I guess is a good thing. If I can’t be myself, I might as well dive into my new identity and take this shit by the balls. Standing up, I check myself and fix my tits, then pick up the cherry lip gloss and coat my lips one more time. Heels clicking behind me have my head snapping towards the sound, and I see Kayla walking towards me alongside a man with long, curly, jet black hair, sky blue eyes, and covered in ink. His body is slender but cut in all the right places. His nipples are pierced along with his eyebrow and nose.I wonder if anything else is. Sheesh.I look away, not wanting to get caught staring but it’s too late. He smirks at me, and I damn near melt into a puddle of want. What the hell is wrong with me? I shouldn’t be attracted to him or anyone else for that matter, but here I am, already panting for this strange man.
“Presley, I want you to meet Johnny. Jay, this is Presley. You two will be together for a bit. You might as well get acquainted before you go out there to the wolves.” She giggles, handing me a drink. She twirls the glass, causing the ice to spin along with the amber liquid. If she thinks I don’t know that she added shit to it,she’s absolutely nuts. How many times do I need to say I’m not new to this.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Presley,” he says, his voice husk and deep with a low growl laced in his tone.Jesus fucking christ.
“Same here, Johnny,” I reply, taking a sip of the drink as he takes my hand, kissing the top of it.
“Don’t be shy, little one,” he says then looks at Kayla. “She needs a stage name. What are we thinking?” he asks, and before I can make a suggestion, Kayla interrupts me.
