After gathering everything I needed, I sent the coordinates to my cell so I could watch if it moved, then Casp called at the perfect time. I knew my brother would want to have some fun, especially if it had to do with the Radleys.
Apparently, Brax wants to have a little get-together at the shop tonight, which is the perfect alibi if we need one.Otherwise, I would’ve asked him if he wanted to partake in this shit.
Taking a hit off the joint, I inhale deeply, reveling in the way the weed flows through my system, calming my nerves to an extent. It also clears the cloudiness of my brain so I can think straight. The low growl of Caspian's engine and the crunching of his tires against the gravel takes me out of my thoughts. He pulls up next to me, and I round the hood, walking over to his window, passing him the joint.
“Did you bring some heat?” I ask, and he looks over his shoulder to the bed of his truck. I lift the heavy tarp, and he was not lying. Multiple guns of different magnitudes and a lock box that I know has smoke bombs and grenades inside.
“Yep, give me the update. What happened?” he asks, and I tell him what Nick told me. He grips the steering wheel until his knuckles turn white. “This motherfucker must really be dumber than a box of rocks. Does he not realize who the fuck he’s stealing from?”
“We know he’s a fucking idiot. Luckily, we are smarter and have a damn good system when it comes to drops. I already have the tracker on my phone, and right now, they are at the clearing,” I tell him, and he laughs.
“Is Nick good though? He’s our most loyal soldier, and I’ll kill any motherfucker who hurts him,” he says, and I nod, taking the joint from him.
“Yep, he's at the shop with Cynthia. I bet he’s having a great time with her.” I laugh, and he shakes his head.
“I don’t doubt it,” he answers.
“Brax is having a party there tonight otherwise he’d be with us. So it’s the perfect alibi if anyone comes sniffing around.”
“Yeah, I don’t want him anywhere near this,” he says with a faraway look in his eyes.
“What happened? I know that look.”
“He’s using again, and before you say anything, let's keep this between us for now. Harley has too much on his plate to be worrying about Braxton more than he already is. I’ll handle it,” he grits, and I nod, taking the last hit off the joint and flicking it onto the gravel.
“Alright. I trust you,” I tell him, because I do. I know we all struggle, but Brax using again is not a good thing. Last time…
“You ready for this? I’m fucking itching to get my hands bloody,” he says, and I nod as a smile spreads across my face.
“Fuck yes! How do you want to play this?” I ask, and he grins, telling me exactly how we should fuck their whole night up.
Driving down the highway towards the clearing, we park at a rest stop behind some big rigs and suit up. We both strap ourselves with a few knives, pistols, and I slide two smoke bombs into the harness around my waist while he puts some grenades on his chest. He grabs the AK, and I slide on the brass knuckles, loving the weight of them against my knuckles. Taking out my phone, I follow the tracker as we walk through the woods to the clearing.
Just as we get to the border of the woods, I look over at Caspian, who gives me the signal to go left while he goes right. There are three cars, including the SUV owned by Jacob Lee. Music and laughter echo through the cold night air. Darkness wraps around us, and the only thing giving us light is their headlights shining in a circle. These fucking idiots won’t see or hear us coming.
I jog to the left, right behind one of the cars. Taking out my knife, I sink the blade into the back tire of two cars and meet with Casp at the last one. The SUV. The hatch is open, and there’s the duffel bag of our drugs. Casp unzips it and looks inside, seeing almost everything is there except the coke. That’s something we cannot lose.We don’t want any trouble with the Cartel, and not giving them payment because of this could cause us to have our heads on a swivel.
“Take the duffel bag and double back. Leave it at the treeline,” Casp says, and I nod, running back towards the woods.
“You think this shit is funny you motherfucker!” Caspian yells. His voice echoes loudly in the air.Shit!
Picking up my pace, I run back into the clearing, taking out one of my pistols. Pogue thinks he is about to get the drop on my brother, but I have other plans for him. Just as he’s about to hit Casp from behind with a bat, I take out my silencer, screw it to the barrel of the gun, and shoot him in the calf. He immediately drops the bat and stumbles, screaming like a bitch. I get closer to him and lift my foot, kicking him in the back of his other knee, sending him to the ground. I stomp my foot on his back, making him cry out as I point my gun at Chester who's to my right, while Caspian has a knife pointed at Duke, and his pistol is pressed against Jacob’s forehead. Chester doesn’t move a muscle. He remembers what happened the last time. Pogue is the only one who wasn’t there… Now look at him.Idiot.
“It’s funny because you can’t do shit to me. There’s too much on the line and you know it,” Jacob taunts, and Casp presses the gun deeper into his head. “What are you going to do shoot me? My father will take everything away. The deals will be off the table,” he taunts, making Caspian laugh.
“That’s where you’re wrong. We don’t give a fuck about the stupid contracts. You and your bitch ass Daddy crossed the line with our girl, and that can’t go unpunished,” I spit, and his eyes widen.Got ‘em.
“Oh, you didn’t think we would find out?” Casp tells him, slapping him in the face with his pistol. Jacob stumbles back, growling as the others take a step closer.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. I’m a little trigger-happy tonight and I don’t mind putting a bullet between your eyes,” I warn them, twirling my knife in my hand as I stand beside my brother. Pogue sobs behind us, and I laugh. What a pathetic waste of life. I should just end it now. Fuck it.I turn, point the gun at his skull, and pull the fucking trigger.
“What the fuck?” Jacob yells as Chester vomits onto the grass and Duke’s face goes ghostly white.
“I warned you. I’m not in the mood,” I say, and Caspian laughs manically, taking his knife out and sending it to his left, hitting Duke just below his collarbone.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Duke yells, gripping the handle of the knife.
“If you remove it, you’re going to bleed out. 10 out of 10 I do not recommend.” I laugh as he looks at me with fear in his eyes.
