“Hello?”
“So, my voice is sexy, Stella?”
She laughs. She has a beautiful laugh. I could listen to it forever.
“I didn’t say sexy; I said it was deep and rich sounding. I can get you the text transcript so you can see that I said nothing about sexy.”
“Sexy, rich, same thing. The important thing is that you like it.”
“I do. But I’m sure I’m not alone. Is that why you called? So I could hear your voice?”
“It is. I wouldn’t want to deprive you of hearing that richness and sexiness that you obviously crave.” I’ve got her really laughing now.
“Whatever, Alex. It’s true, though. It’s kind of sexy,” she admits.
“Now, that wasn’t so hard to admit, was it, Pix?”
“Whatever,” she says, exasperated. “Well, I need to get to bed, Alex––another big day tomorrow.”
“All right, Stella, sweet dreams."
“Night, Alex.”
She disconnects the call. I lie back on my bed and think about her. She’s so frigging beautiful––so soft, curvy, and sexy as hell. As I recall her dance moves, I feel myself get hard. Hell, I’ve been hard since the second I met her, but this time, I can’t ignore it. So, I don't.
Chapter Nine
STELLA
This first week of school has flown by while the homework has piled up. I like all of my classes, but Life Painting is, by far, my favorite. Hank has been modeling in class, but he hasn't been nude yet, thank goodness. He’s just been wearing loose shorts and no shirt. That’s plenty of nudity for me right now. Not for Lily, though. She’s disappointed that she hasn’t gotten to see “his goods” yet. She and Hank have been making goo-goo eyes at each other the entire time, and I can’t decide if it’s cute or annoying. When he poses, I’d swear to you he intentionally positions himself so he can see Lily. She’s barely gotten anything on canvas yet because she can’t stop staring at him. It’s sickeningly sweet. Truthfully, I’m really happy for her.
“Are you going home for Labor Day weekend?” I ask Lily. It’s Friday, and school is out for a long weekend.
“Nope. The folks are going out of town. You going to your mom’s over-the-top soiree?”
“Yeah, I have to head home tomorrow afternoon, but what are you doing tonight?”
“Nothing.” Lily sighs. “My roommate is a complete bore. Did you want to do something?” Lily asks excitedly.
“Well, I thought we could have a slumber party tonight. Do you want to come over? You could come early and eat dinner in the cafeteria with me, and then we could hang out and watch Netflix or listen to music or whatever.”
“That sounds awesome, but what about your evil roommate?”
“I’m sure she’ll be going out. She’s rarely there at night. I’m pretty sure she’s a vampire. Besides, I have my own room with a door. We don’t have to interact with her at all.”
Lily agrees to come over right after she’s finished with classes. I can’t wait. I miss bonding time with her.
“Ooh, and maybe I’ll get a sighting of Hottie Hank while I’m there!” Lily claps her hands together.
“Maybe you will.” No doubt she will. They’ll all be eating at the big boys' table in the cafeteria. But I don’t want to tell her about that in case he has other plans. Itisa Friday night, after all. I’m sure those guys have parties to go to and are in demand with the ladies. As I exit the Art and Design building, I spot a large man leaning on the bicycle rack. To say I’m surprised, well, that’s an understatement. “Alex, hi, what are you doing here? Are you waiting for Hank?”
“Nope, I stopped by to walk you home. After that deal with Brad, I wanted to be sure you got home safely. Then there’s the fact that Hank has plans to get naked in front of you. I’ve got to say, I don’t like it. Not one bit,” he grumbles.
A laugh escapes me. “I’m not excited about seeing him naked either.”
“Well, I’m glad to hear it. I hope I’m the only football player that you see naked in the near future.”
That does it. I start to cough and choke at that last comment.
