Stella:;)
Alex Emerson, Football God:Did you just wink at me, Pixie?
Stella:Maybe
Alex Emerson, Football God:I like it. You can wink at me anytime ;)
Wow, it feels like he’s flirting with me.
Stella:Well, I need to get to sleep. Big day in Stella-land tomorrow.
Alex Emerson, Football God:Stella-land, huh? I’d like to live in Stella-land.
Hmmm. What does he mean by that?
Stella:Sleep well, Donnie!
Alex Emerson, Football God:Sweet dreams, beautiful Stella.
What is going on here with Alex Emerson? What’s his story? I should google him and the football team. And I will. First thing tomorrow. Before going to bed, I change Alex’s contact information from “Alex Emerson, Football God” to “Donnie.” As I drift off to sleep, my mind wanders back to that kiss. Wow. That kiss. Kissing Alex Emerson was a life-altering moment. I mean, who knew French kissing was so amazing? Oh, right, everyone. Everyone except Bradley.
Chapter Seven
STELLA
Iwake up excited to start my first day of college. Peering at my phone, I see several texts. It’s pretty early for people to text, but I see one from Mom and one from Bradley. Ugh!
Mom:We need to talk!
I’m not going to deal with that one right now.
Bradley:When can we talk?
Nope, never if I can help it. And then the phone beeps. It’s a text from Alex.
Donnie:Have a great first day of class, sweet Pixie. I’ll pick you up for dinner at 5:30. Be ready! And don’t start thinking of excuses why you can’t eat in the cafeteria with me.
None of the guys meant anything. Plus, The Adonis has dealt with them!
Stella:“The” Adonis, huh?
Donnie:That is correct, milady.
Stella:If you say so.
Donnie:You don’t seem impressed. What does a guy have to do to impress Stella Matthews?
Stella:Honestly? Just be kind, sincere, and trustworthy.
Donnie:Check, check, and check. I’m set.
Stella:Gotta go get ready. Don’t want to be late for my first day of college!
Donnie:I’ll pick you up at 5:30.
Stella: Um, I’m not sure.
Donnie: I told you, Pixie, I’ve kicked the guys’ asses. They’ll be on their best behavior.
