“There is, but we’ll explain all of that later.” Chloe stood. “For now, let’s talk about what kind of bonding ceremony my best friend wants. Even though we’re going to have to put it off for now, it never hurts to start planning early.”

Our moms got excited and started babbling away about the ceremony. I gave Chloe a grateful look, and she winked at me. I didn’t want to talk about Jet’s military involvement or anything else to do with the attempted kidnapping. I just wanted to let my food baby digest and enjoy the wonderful people around me.

Tomorrow would come soon enough.

Chapter 32

Jet

My meeting with Deshawn wasn’t until midnight, so we would be exhausted for classes tomorrow.

I really liked the guy's parents and couldn’t wait to introduce Reverie and her family to mine. Of course, I’d have to come clean about my Aurathion heritage and what I was involved in. One or both of my parents had to be of Aurathion blood also, finding out which one would be entertaining.

The guys showed us around their home, and Chloe took Reverie to her room.

“I want to talk to you about your sister,” Oliver said as soon as we closed the door to Zeke’s room.

We’d briefly looked into Zane’s room, but it was so messy that no one wanted to stay too long. How he and Zeke were twins was beyond me. Personality-wise, they were complete opposites.

“What about our sister?” Zane frowned.

“I’m 100% positive she’s my Nexus, and I want to do the ritual.”

“What kind of name is Oliver anyway?” Nathan cut into the conversation, his question having no relevance whatsoever.

“Yeah, it doesn’t seem very Samoan.” Zane piped in.

Oliver rolled his eyes.

“My mother is a big Charles Dickens fan.”

Nathan’s eyes widened, and he fluttered his lashes.

“Please, sir, can we have some more?”

He and Zane died laughing.

“Like I’ve never heard that one before.” Oliver rolled his eyes again.

“Enough, you two. You know you can’t do the ritual until Chloe completes her initiation.” Zeke said seriously.

“I’m aware of that, but I wanted to get your permission,” Oliver said.

“You know that’s not necessary, and if it were, you should go to our fathers.” Zane plopped down at the end of the bed.

“I plan to. And it is necessary because I’m old-fashioned like that.” Oliver smiled.

“Let me give you a word of advice about our sister. She’s not the type that would appreciate you talking to us about this before you speak to her.” Zeke pushed Zane off his bed and smoothed out the wrinkles.

Zane rolled his eyes and sat in the chair in the corner.

“I agree with the clean freak. Ask Chloe first.”

“Thanks for the advice. I’ll talk to her tomorrow after class.”

Oliver leaned back against the door and crossed his arms.

“You’re going to meet with Deshawn tonight?” Zeke asked.
