“Please, don’t ask this of me. Reverie has been a good friend, and this will be a betrayal.” The woman twisted her hands together, and tears filled her eyes.

“That is why you should be happy to do this. I can protect her and keep her safe from everyone who would do her harm.Reverie was always meant to be mine.” He ran his hand through my hair lovingly.

“Please, Tanya, don’t listen to him. My men will find me!” I pleaded with her.

The man lost his smile and went to stand behind the pale man, putting a hand on either side of his head.

“If you don’t do this, I’ll end him. You know how effortless that would be for me.”

The woman, Tanya, gave me a look filled with such sorrow that tears came to my eyes.

I couldn’t stand to see it, so I took a deep breath and nodded my head.

“Do it. You can’t lose Razor.” I spoke in the strongest voice I could manage under the circumstances.

“Reverie, I’m so sorry.” She closed her eyes as a tear fell down her cheek.

“Everything will be fine. You’ll see. Reverie will be happy with me, and together, we’ll fix everything wrong with our world.”

He came back around to me and reached out a finger, dissolving my cuffs.

I took the opportunity to call fire to my hands, but at his touch, the sparks went out. I brought up my knee and threw a punch at his throat simultaneously, but neither landed.

He threw back his head and laughed.

“I love your spirit, little Bellator.” He grabbed me around the waist, “Now, Tanya, I don’t want to wait any longer.”

“Please forgive me.” She raised her hand and closed her eyes. A soft, green light shot out of her palm and enveloped us both in its glow.

I felt my heart break, and I knew things would never be the same. In my head, I was screaming for each of my Faction, but there was no answer.

Iwoke up abruptly, drenched in sweat, Nathan and Zane asleep on either side of me. That was the most realistic dream I’d ever had. My heart still raced with terror at what the woman named Tanya was about to do. Even though I had no idea what that was, exactly.

I carefully slid to the end of the bed, my bladder about to explode, and made my way into the bathroom. I relieved myself and then started the shower.

I tilted my head back and let the water flow over me, starting to feel a little better. The dream was fading, and things didn’t seem as dire as they had when I first woke up. I finished my shower and tiptoed into my room to get dressed.

The guys had gravitated toward each other after I left. Nathan was sleeping on his back, and Zane had thrown a leg over his, and they were both snoring. I smirked and grabbed my phone, taking pictures from several different angles. That ought to be priceless for blackmailing those two into doing anything I wanted. I owed Zane anyway, and I’m sure Nathan deserved payback, too, for something or other.

I looked at the pictures I’d just taken. I thought I’d have them printed in black and white. That would really capture the mood.

Pulling on a pair of ripped jeans and a hot pink T-shirt, I left my hair down to dry naturally, grabbed my kicks, and shut the door quietly behind me.

Zeke was frying bacon when I entered the kitchen. I sat at the kitchen island, and he stopped what he was doing to fix me a cup of coffee.

“Thank you.” I yawned behind my hand.

“You’re welcome, my treasure. Did you sleep well last night?” He smirked.

My face grew hot, “Yes. Please tell me you couldn’t hear us.” I would be mortified if my parents knew what we’d been up to.

“I couldfeelyour desire. The only satisfaction I got was knowing Storm was just as miserable as I was.” Zeke went back to flipping bacon.

Before I could comment, the kitchen door swung open, and Oren walked in. He had dark circles under his eyes, and it didn’t look like he’d slept a wink.

He went straight for the coffee, filled a cup, and drank it in one go. Zeke and I looked on in amazement.

“Damn, Storm, you probably scalded your throat,” Zeke said.
