“I knew he’d be okay with Luke joining this Faction. I’ll talk to him as soon as possible.” Reverie headed towards the door.
“Fuck no, that douche isn’t getting anywhere near you!” I stepped in front of her.
She looked at me and winked, “Stop thinking about role-playing and pay attention when I’m talking.” Reverie thumped my nose, “The reading the thoughts thing goes both ways, asshole.”
My Nexus motioned, dropping a mic, then sashayed to the couch and took a seat.
Could she be any more perfect? I followed right behind her and bundled Ms. Hawthorne, I mean Reverie, into my lap.
“Okay, you have my full attention. Continue to tell Jet what a tremendous wanker he’s been.” I looked at the guys, “That’s British for dick, in case you morons didn’t know that.” I kissed
Reverie on the nose. “I’m bilingual.”
Take that! Now, it was me dropping the mic on my Faction brothers.
Zeke covered his face with his hands, “I’m so embarrassed. Maybe our resemblance wouldn’t be obvious if I dyed my hair.”
“Don’t even think about golden brown. You’d never be able to pull it off with that skin,” Nathan said, tossing his hair and looking at Zeke haughtily.
Pantar turned up his nose in disgust.
“If I were unaware of how loyal and strong your Faction members are, I’d advise you to break these bonds and start over.”
“Hey! That’s a bad kitty.” I stuck my tongue out at the Fellat.
“Wait! Did I just hear you?”
“Welcome to the Faction. Now I’m done here. Nexus, if you want me to eat the disgusting excuse for an Aurathion, I will do it. If not, I will watch you pummel her in a few days. Tell the dishonest one to have more faith in his future Nexus.”He blinked out.
“Jet, I understand you’re worried about me, but have some faith. What she did was wrong, and I refuse to let it stand.”
Reverie looked at Jet pleadingly.
“I have complete trust in your ability to fight. I’ve seen you in the gym, but people like that never fight fair, and I don’t want to see you get hurt.” Jet sat beside her and took her small hand into his. The size difference between the two was ridiculous. She almost disappeared beside his bulk.
“Who says I fight fair?” Reverie smirked.
There she went, making me hard again. This girl was the total package.
Reverie rolled her eyes at me and then began speaking to Jet again.
“I’ll be ready for whatever she throws at me. I only challenged her to fight in the arena because girls like her are more susceptible to the influence of status and public opinion. This will damage her reputation so badly that she won’t be able to beg someone to join her Faction.”
Oren appeared at that moment, “Reverie is right.”
Jet growled, “You shouldn’t have baited Kristine into accepting the challenge.”
“It’s the only way she doesn’t get away with this.” Oren walked into the kitchen and grabbed a beer out of the fridge.
“Help yourself,” Nathan mumbled, with no real heat.
“Look, I’m more powerful than ever, thanks to whatever this new ability is. The only thing I’m afraid of is accidentally killing the rapist whore for what she did.” Reverie leaned into Jet, instinctively trying to give him comfort.
“I think it’s time we talked about that.” Oren sat beside Reverie on the couch but didn’t pull her away from Jet.
“Finally!” Reverie turned toward Oren, and I noticed Jet shift, so she leaned back onto his chest.
“I have some theories, but I want to reiterate that they are only theories. I believe you’ve gained the trait of Amalgamate.” He paused, clearly waiting for the questions to begin.
