I was mesmerized by his sincerity. He played around a lot, but when he focused all his attention on me, it was devastating.

“You’re our life, past, present, and future. We have all the time in the world to learn the rest.” He rubbed his nose against mine.

Zeke came up behind me, “He’s not wrong. Every moment in your presence is a gift.” He hugged me and laid his chin on my head.

Suddenly, they both moaned in agony and dropped to their knees.

I jumped to my feet.

It’s happening again!

What the fuck was going on? I hadn’t bonded with either man. Surely, this new ability couldn’t bypass the ritual or blood exchange.

Zeke clutched the left side of his stomach, while Zane clutched his right.

After a few moments, both men stood up and raised their shirts. Zane was marked with a yellow and amber sun that looked so realistic I could almost feel the heat coming off it.

Zeke’s mark was a purple crescent moon with a scattering of amber stars. They both stared at me in shock, but before I could comment, I felt an intense burn between my breasts where my mark was.

What the fuck was happening right now?

When I raised my shirt, I saw a sun directly below Nathan’s dagger, followed by a crescent moon at the bottom of my mark, opposite the ash tree representing a Nexus.

Every vacant spot was filled except for one.

My eyes rolled back in my head, and for the second time in my life, I fainted.

Chapter 18

Zeke

Icaught Reverie in my arms before she could hit the floor, which was a true miracle because I felt a little woozy myself. I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on here, but I could feel Reverie inside me.

It felt like we had bonded.

“What the fuck?” Zane was nearly hysterical. Looking at his mark, then at me, like I had answers. Spoiler alert… I didn’t.

Oren was pacing the room and muttering to himself. He suddenly disappeared, only to reappear a few seconds later, holding several books and scrolls.

He used his arm and swiped everything off the table, not paying the least attention to the mess he’d made. However, I noticed Jet’s eye twitching at the disorder.

I gently picked up Reverie and placed her on the couch, covering her with a throw. She had noticeable dark circles under her eyes and appeared extremely tired. This girl was a powerhouse. I’d never seen her like this before.

Although I’d never mentioned it, in all my stalking of her, I’d witnessed her abilities energizing her. Typically, when most Aurathions used our abilities, we needed to rest to regain our strength, not my treasure.

Nathan sat at the end of the couch and put her feet in his lap. “She never ceases to amaze. I’ve known her for most of my life, and she still surprises me.” We all agreed on that. I was grateful to be along for the ride.

All I wanted was to take care of Reverie and protect her as much as I could. My brother and I had calmed down over the last year or so, but there was no doubt that I’d become whatever I needed to be to keep her safe.

I edged over to my brother, “Are you okay?”

“I’m more than okay. I feel powerful," Zane had removed his shirt and was running a hand over his sun mark, smiling like crazy.

I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. My body felt changed as well. Reverie had filled all the empty spaces inside me with pure power. I felt invincible, and there was a strange coldness to my core that was invigorating.

Zane inhaled loudly when I opened my eyes, “Zeke, your pupils!”

“What about them?” I blinked rapidly. Freaking out a little at his tone.
