Unfortunately, that was his downfall. The minute he turned his head, Oren swept his legs out from under him and took him to the ground. Then he straddled him and delivered punch after punch until Nathan tapped out.

I didn’t realize I’d stood, but Zeke grabbed my hand and pulled me back into his lap.

“He’s fine, Nexus. Watch.”

When I looked back at my guys, Oren was helping Nathan up, and they were both smiling, blood covering their teeth.

“I’ll never understand men if I live to be a thousand years old.” Chloe shook her head.

“Me and you both, sister.” I nodded my head in agreement. Zeke and Zane started laughing.

“We’re more straightforward than women. We disagree, fight it out, and then continue our lives.” Zane chuckled.

“Women, on the other hand, will pretend to work it out, then make plans to destroy the other in a feud that can go on for generations.” He raised a brow at Chloe and me, daring us to contradict him.

Chloe shrugged her shoulders, “That’s fair.”

He might just understand women more than any of my other men.

Chapter 14

Reverie

Nathan walked over while Oren cleaned the blood off his face.

“Hey, my Nexi, how are you this fine morning?”

He leaned over and plucked me out of Zeke’s lap. I automatically wrapped my legs around his waist, “I’m fine. How are you, Rocky Balboa?”

“I’m more like Clubber Lang. I kicked ass in the beginning but lost in the end.” He grinned.

“You look weirdly happy about that.” I gave him a puzzled look. He carried me toward Oren, who stood in the arena watching us approach. “That’s because I know Storm is capable of defending the most important thing to us both. You.” He kissed me deeply.

I licked the blood from his mouth, savoring the taste. Why was that a thing for me now? I wasn’t craving a taste from anyone but my Faction, so there was that, at least.

Nathan moaned, “You better stop that, Nexi, or we won’t be going to class today at all.”

“You’ll be going to class, no matter what. Appearances must be kept.” Oren scolded Nathan, but the heat in his eyes softened his words.

I smirked at Oren. “Yes, sir!” I saluted, then lowered my voice. “Just because you two worked things out doesn’t mean I’m not still planning my own form of payback.”

He gave me a slow, sexy grin. “I’m looking forward to it.”

Then he leaned closer, ensuring no one could hear him, “I’ll see you tonight. You’re bunking with me.”

I nodded my head in agreement, then felt a warm kiss of air on my lips and a hand on my ass. When I jumped in surprise, I saw Oren smiling.

That was going to take some getting used to.

Nathan started to protest, and Oren rolled his eyes, “I guess you’re invited too.”

He then left the arena to get ready for class. Nathan kissed me again and carried me out to join our friends who were headed to the cafeteria.

When we caught up with them, Zeke, Zane, and Chloe were laughing and joking. I had no idea where Jet had gone. He needed a collar with a bell way more than Pantar did.

“What a waste of prime man meat.” I heard a whiny voice say from my left.

“True story, I’m surprised he can lift her with all that ass she’s packing.” Sophie sneered.
