I snuck closer, hiding in the shadows at the edge of the room until I was close enough to hear what they were saying.
“I think we should just grab the bitch. That fuckwit Nathan is gone, and if we’re lucky, he won’t be back.”
The first guy to speak had dark hair and was almost as big as me—almost, but not quite. I’d seen him throw his weight around several times, but usually with people he knew were weaker than him.
“We can’t grab her until we get the go-ahead. Do you want to explain to the Brummond that you decided to act without getting his permission if you fuck up this whole operation?”
This guy had to be the brains of the two. I’d seen him hanging out with Kristine. He had the look of someone with money; I think his name was Anthony.
“Hell no, but I’m also tired of being here.” He frowned, then began smirking. “I say when we take her, we have some fun before bringing her to the Coliseum. She’s strong, but without a Faction she’s basically just a souped-up human. I know I wouldn’t mind a taste of that. Have you checked out that ass?”
Thedead manwaggled his eyebrows.
“Torrence, that’s positively fucked up. Surprisingly, I like it.” Anthony, the other soon-to-be-corpse, agreed.
“We can stop right outside the city and bring her to Crispin. He’ll be so pleased we might get double the money for this job.” Torrence grinned, looking a little shocked that Anthony agreed with his idea.
I could understand his shock, as he seemed like the kind of guy who would need the instructions on a shampoo bottle.
“I’m proud of you.” He seemed surprised that Torrence had an original thought in his head. “Crispin will pay us for any info he gets from her, and then we can bring what’s left to the Coliseum.”
Anthony smiled evilly. “If we’re questioned, we can just say she gave us trouble, so we had to discipline her. No one will care as long as she gets there in one piece. She’s just a tool to control her parents.”
I felt my blood pressure rise, and rage began to take over my rational thought. The smart thing to do was to let them go and keep observing them, reporting the information I collected.
Unfortunately, hearing them talk about what they would do to Reverie interfered with my professionalism.
Torrence was getting excited just thinking about it. I could see the evidence in his shorts.
“I almost swallowed my tongue when she stripped down to run the obstacle course. The things I want to do to her would ruin her for life.” He cupped his junk.
“I don’t doubt that. That’s exactly why I get my turn first. She needs a lesson from her betters. The bitch is a little too uppity for me.”The smile Anthony had on his face was chilling.
“She’s never been up against real Aurathions.”
“You’re going to use your ability on her, right?” Torrence looked intrigued at the idea. What the fuck was this guy’s ability?
Anthony smirked, “Most assuredly. I never tire of using it to break people, and she’s no exception. She’ll be aware of everything we do to her but unable to stop it. I’ll have complete control.”
I gritted my teeth in rage.
These motherfuckers weren’t long for this world.
The corpse continued, “I love seeing how they react when I allow them back in the driver's seat. Some people lose their minds, taking their own lives. Of course, she won’t have that option.”
“If the Brummond gives her to Selene, she’ll wish she did. There won’t be much of her left by the time her purpose has ended.” Torrence grimaced, “especially when Beatrice gets involved.”
I’d heard those names mentioned last night. Oren freaked when he realized they were involved in Nathan’s ordeal. The death of Beatrice must not be common knowledge, at least by these two.
“Okay, fuck it. Now I’m horny. Let’s wait until tonight and kill that redheaded roommate she has and just take the bitch. I need a taste, and I’m also getting sick of being here. These entitled shits need to die, and thankfully, it won’t be long now.” Anthony rubbed his hands together.
“I’m going to shower and rub one out before class.” Torrence put the weight down and walked toward the locker room.
“TMI idiot.” Anthony grimaced in distaste. “I’m going to finish up here. We can meet after lunch and finalize our plans.”
“Sounds good,” Torrence said over his shoulder, almost at a jog.
It looked like he was in a hurry to masturbate to my woman. I felt a blinding rage overtake me at the thought of these two men with Reverie at their mercy.
