Dominic looks up from the plate of pasta he’s eating. It smells delicious but I’m a coffee and go kind of morning person. Plus, it’s odd eating pasta for breakfast.
“Why are you asking?”
“Because Eli has to go to the compound and do his job at the garage and I need to go get my things from my apartment, then go to work.”
“Why would I need a suit for that?”
“Because you’re my new secretary,” I smirk.
Dominic laughs as he leans back in his chair. “That isn’t happening.”
“Protecting me doesn’t mean hiding me away. I’m going to the office to do my job, either you come with me, or I get Eli to ask one of the prospects to handle it.”
“Not a fucking chance,” he scowls. “I’ve seen what kind of prospects they have there right now.”
“Rip got kicked out,” Eli comes into the kitchen, shirtless with damp hair and bare feet. He must have used the other bathroom to shower. He walks towards me, moves my hair aside and kisses my neck, making my heart jack hammer. He pulls away with a grin. “We have a few decent guys.”
Dominic scoffs. “Bullshit. You wouldn’t trust any of them either.”
“After some careful consideration while showering,” he winks at me, not hiding the other connotations to those words. “Hiding her away won’t help anything.”
“You’re not okay with that, you’re trying to look good.”
“I don’t need to try,” Eli grabs two mugs and pours out coffee, handing me one. “If I really wanted to impress anyone, I’d be putting on my suit and going with her.”
“You’re full of shit,” Dominic mutters.
How did one night sharing a bed suddenly turn from animosity into bickering?
“It’s happening with or without you along,” I sip from the mug and eye Dominic over the top of it. “I have my own office, so you don’t need to interact with anyone.”
“Does this job come with benefits?” Dominic asks, rubbing his chin.
Eli pauses and looks at me.
I move closer and place one palm on the table, leaning closer to him. “Like getting on your knees under my desk and burying your tongue inside me?” I ask, hoping it gets a rise out of him.
“Fuck the garage, I’ll do it.”
“Piss off,” Dominic gets up glaring at him. “I’m not wearing a fucking suit.”
“Lose the cut at least.”
He looks like he’s going to blow a gasket.
“And no bike.”
Eli laughs and turns his back on us making breakfast. This is about as relaxed as they’re going to get, and I find myself enjoying it. Once we step outside, we will go back to being the people we want the world to see.
I don’t give Dominic room for more argument and begrudgingly get on his bike to get to my place. He doesn’t comment on the fact my bare ass pussy is pressed into his ass. I’d punch him in the dick if he did. I’m surprised to find my car at my apartment, and he explains one of his men brought it home for me last night.
I’m not sure how to feel about someone else driving my expensive car but it serves me to have it here, I guess.
After packing a couple of bags and changing my outfit, we head out. Mace leaves his cut in the trunk when we get to the office. He looks intimidating and un-secretary like but it’s going to have to do. I’ll get him into a suit tomorrow.
He groans as we go inside and wait for the elevator. Everyone is staring, and he’s giving his best glower back.
“You could stay in the car,” I say as the elevator opens and I get inside.
