"Pretty uneventful actually. Spent most of my day at the zoning office."

Huh?

"I thought you were a lawyer."

"I am, but one of my jobs is to make sure the zoning is right for the property my company wants to buy or there would be no point in them buying it."

Okay, I could see that.

"You getting ready for work?"Andrew asked.

"I don't have to be to work until eight, so I have a little time."It was only six o'clock at night right now, which was why I was surprised Andrew was home already. He tended to work a lot of hours.

"You know, one of these times we should actually talk face to face."I held my breath as I waited for Andrew's response. He might not want to talk to me face to face. Texting was a whole lot safer.

When Andrew didn't reply right away, my heart started to sink."We don't have to,"I typed out."We can just talk like this."

"Sorry,"Andrew typed out after a minute."I was changing out of my work clothes."

That made me feel a little better.

"So..."

I swallowed tightly when my phone dinged and then pressed the flashing red button. Andrew's gorgeous face filled the screen. "Hi."

I felt like an idiot.

Andrew's gray eyes sparkled as he chuckled. "Hi."

Oh. My. God.

That voice.

"Have you ever considered giving up practicing law and going into the sex operator business? You'd make millions."

"I like the structure of the law too much."

"The structure?" I wasn't sure I'd ever heard of it referred to in that way.

"The laws are written down. There's no falling to one side or the other and hoping. It is all written down. It creates a structure for the world and keeps it from total chaos. It doesn't matter what field you specialize in. The laws are there."

Yeah, I still didn't get it, but I did understand the enthusiasm behind Andrew's words. "You really love the law."

"I do. My father and grandfather were both lawyers. I remember sitting on the floor in my grandfather's study while he and my father debated the law. I didn't understand what they were doing at first, but I knew they were passionate about it. They believed in what they were debating." Andrew gave a little shrug. "I wanted that."

"Is that why you became a lawyer?"

"It is."

"I guess I feel the same way about dancing. I love it in all its forms. Ballet, folk, exotic, or whatever. Body movement is beautiful. When put to music, it's stunning."

"I've been to the ballet many times, but beyond that, I'll have to take your word for it. I've never been to a strip club before."

My jaw dropped. "Never?"

"I was always too busy with my studies and then work to ever go out and party, and then I was married for a few years and it just seemed wrong."

"You're not still married, are you?"
