Well, wasn't this a party.

"He's here," I whispered as I stared down at the screen of my cell phone. My heart beat a little faster. Hopefully, this nightmare was almost over.

Cam scooted closer to me and peered down at my phone. "Does he say when he's coming to get us?"

I shook my head. "I guess we just wait."

Hopefully, we wouldn't have to wait long.

My heart climbed into my throat when I heard the lock turning. I quickly slid my cell phone into my pocket. When the door opened and Brasov appeared, I was glad I had.

"Get up, Didi," Brasov said. "I need you out on the floor."

My eyebrows shot up at the gall of this man. "You are holding me prisoner. You expect me to go out and dance?"

Was he crazy?

Brasov pulled out a gun and pointed it at Cam. "I'm not going to argue about this. I need you out on the floor right now. Either do what I said or clean up the blood."

Asshole!

Knowing I had no other choice if I didn't want Cam to get shot, I slowly stood. "I'll need to dress and put on my makeup."

Anything to delay the inevitable.

"Get your bag," Brasov directed. "Kirk will take you to the bathroom, and no funny business. Kirk has orders to shoot Cam if you try anything."

"Won't that cut into your bottom line?" I had no idea why I was asking that other than the fact that I hated Brasov and what he was doing. I wanted him to know I knew about his little slavery business.

Brasov raised an eyebrow. "I can always find another dancer."

Unfortunately, that was probably true.

I grabbed my bag and walked over to the door. Brasov stepped back and allowed me to pass him, but Kirk was waiting for me. I glanced back at Cam. "I'll be back soon."

Cam sent me a wobbly smile. "I'll be here."

That was probably true also. At least, I hoped it was. If Brasov did something to Cam, I was going to strangle the man with my bare hands.

Brasov grabbed me when I reached the doorway and slammed me into the wall, face first. I was just lucky I turned my head at the last second or I probably would be sprouting a fat lip right now.

"You're going to go out and dance for some people in the VIP lounge. If you try anything or say one word about this, I'll send Kirk back in here, but before he shoots Cam, he'll make him suffer. Do you understand me?"

I gulped before nodding. "I understand."

Brasov gave me a shove toward the doorway. Kirk grabbed me by the arm and escorted me to the bathroom. I almost growled at him when he let me go and leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms. The man was obviously hoping for a free show.

Wasn't going to happen.

I grabbed the edge of the doorframe and pushed it toward him. "You can wait outside."

Kirk snorted but allowed me to close the door. It wasn't like I could escape the tiny bathroom I was in. Kirk was standing outside the only door.

I wasn't sure what to do with my phone. Once I changed into my dancing outfit, there'd be no place to hide it, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving it in my bag. Someone had already gone through it once. I also didn't want to leave it in the bathroom. It was my only lifeline to the outside world, and I might never get it back.
