Lex's eyes widened as he turned to look at the man standing beside him. Yummy didn't even begin to him. Tall, muscular, and totally drool worthy was a good start. Sandy brown hair, cut close on the sides, but a bit longer on top. Brown eyes deep enough to drown in. And rough stubble that made him look as if he hadn't shaved in a couple of days.
In other words, hot!
Lex smiled. "No problem."
The man's gaze flickered to the jerk sitting across from Lex. He held out his hand. "Antonio Garza, but my friends call me Tony."
So, Mr. Gorgeous had a name.
When the man at the table refused to shake Tony's hand, instead just sitting there glaring, Tony turned to Lex. "Are you about ready to go, babe? We don't want to be late for our dinner reservations."
Lex slammed back the last of his drink, set his glass on the table, then scooted out of the booth. "I'm ready now, Tony."
"Good." The man smiled before wrapping an arm around Lex's waist and pulling him flush with his body. He leaned down and nuzzled Lex's temple. "I missed you today, baby."
Lex knew they were pretending, but he almost melted into a puddle. "I missed you, too."
He instinctively lifted his face, pursing his lips. When the man's lips pressed against his and his tongue pushed through and began to explore, Lex became one big ball of arousal. He groaned and moved closer, molding his body to the bigger man's.
Lex had been kissed before, numerous times. He'd never been kissed like this. He felt as if this guy was trying to lift his soul right out of his body through his lips. In that moment, he gladly would have given it if the guy would just keep on kissing him.
It was just that damn good.
Lex cried out when a hard hand grabbed his arm and ripped him out of Tony's arms. He grunted as pain flashed through his thigh as he crashed into the corner of the table.
He started to turn to demand to know what was going on, but just as he did, something slammed into him, driving him down onto the hard, flat surface of the wooden table. Lex grimaced as whiskey splashed all over his shirt.
"Great, now I'm wet and I reek of alcohol."
He didn't even want to think about what was on his clothes.
Lex jumped and spun around when he heard a crash behind him. His jaw dropped when he saw Tony's fist plowing into the creep's face. Creep dropped like a rock.
Glass jaw.
Lex hurried over to Tony's side. The man stood over creepy dude, rubbing his knuckles. "Are you okay?"
Tony turned and flashed him a wicked smile that made Lex's knees go weak. "I'm fine, babe."
Oh, they were still playing that game.
"I'm so sorry about this. He bought me a drink, which I returned, and tried to start up a conversation with me. I told him I wasn't interested, that I was waiting for you, but he just wouldn't give up."
When Tony's arm wrapped around him, Lex couldn't help leaning into the bigger man. Besides the fact that he smelled really, really good, there was something comforting about being held by Tony.
"We should probably get going," Lex suggested. "We don't want to be late for our dinner reservations."
"Don't we have to wait for the cops?" Tony asked.
Lex shook his head. "They are not going to call the cops for a scuffle."
Too much chance of the media getting wind of it. Lex wasn't sure who the creepy guy was, but he seriously doubted he wanted his face splashed all over the news for getting his ass handed to him inside a gay bar.
"The bartender knows me. If the cops really need to speak to me, he can tell them where to find me." And Lex really wanted to get out of there. Not because he was afraid of the cops or the guy on the floor, but he wanted to spend a little more time getting to know Tony. He hoped the feeling was mutual.
Lex looped his arm through Tony's and sent him one of his award-winning smiles, a real one. "Besides, we have dinner reservations, remember?"
Tony's grin was easy and friendly and made his deep brown eyes sparkle. "I guess we do at that."
