Ouch!
Yeah, I was awake.
"I'm turned on watching you work on your computer. I'm turned on looking at you when you wear your glasses. I'm turned on when you wear those graphic T-shirts of yours. I'm turned on when you chew on your thumbnail. I'm turned on when—"
"Okay, okay, I get it."
Sort of.
"I don't suppose you have a pocket protector, do you?" Abe asked.
My face flushed with heat. "Maybe."
One or two…or ten.
"That's hot."
In what world?
"Did you get dropped on your head as a baby?" I had to ask.
"No." Abe's wide grin made my breath hitch in my throat. "I'm around big, muscular men day in and day out, Danny. They fight good, but they are boring as shit. You, on the other hand, you have hidden depths I'm dying to explore."
I had hidden depths?
Seriously?
I squinted at Abe. "Are you sure you weren't dropped on your head as a baby?"
"I'm sure, Danny. I just know what I want, and I want you. Not for a one off. Not to scratch an itch. Not to experiment with a geek. Not because you're the only guy available. Not for any of the reasons that are running through your mind."
I blinked up at the man.
Could he read my mind?
"I want you because you fascinated me. You're beautiful and you don't even know it. You are, without a doubt, the smartest man I've ever met and you hide it behind your glasses. You have me totally wrapped around your little finger, and yet I know you'd never use that against me. You're sweet and adorable, and you make me ache every time I look at you. But, more than that, you're honorable and trustworthy, and I know I can let my guard down with you and just be me. That's why I want you, Danny."
I swallowed tightly when tears clogged my throat. "Okay."
Abe's dark eyebrows lifted. "Okay?"
I nodded vigorously. "You can have me."
I wasn't stupid enough to give this man up.
Chapter Six
I had no idea my words would open the floodgates. Abe stared at me for a second, almost as if he was trying to weigh the truthfulness of my words, and then the man pounced.
Having a six-foot-six-inch man pounce on you wasn't for the faint of heart. I gasped, but my surprise quickly turned to a groan when Abe started kissing me again just as soon as he had me wrapped up tighter in his arms.
I'm pretty sure things got hot enough to peel the paint off the walls. I certainly knew I felt as if I was going up in flames. Every inch of skin that Abe touched burned, but not in a bad way. It just made me ache for more.
"Abe."
Abe grabbed the hem of my shirt and started pulling it up. "Let's get this off, okay?"
I nodded then leaned up so he could pull the shirt over my head. I felt a little anxious when I lay back down on the bed until I saw the heat in his eyes as he stared down at my naked chest. There wasn't a universe created where I looked anything like he did. I had some muscle definition, but nothing like what Abe had.
