"Is it safe?" Jojo asked.

"Like I said, he has to have someone with him. I'd prefer one of the…uh…bigger guys." I gave Jojo a pointed look. "It's safer."

Jojo nodded silently.

"So," I said. "Who's hungry?"

Tommy put Apex down and jumped to his feet. "Me! Me!"

Apex hissed and ran under the couch.

"I'm going to go get dressed. We can leave in a few minutes."

I could hear Jojo talking to Tommy about Apex as I headed back to the bedroom to finish getting dressed. It didn't take me long. By the time I got back to the living room, Tommy and Jojo were waiting by the door.

"Where's Apex?" I asked as I glanced around. I didn't see the little fur ball anywhere.

"I put him in the bathroom where the kitty litter box is located," Jojo said. "Until he's potty trained, it's the best place for him."

Crap.

"I asked Bob for one that was potty trained."

Jojo chuckled. "Yeah, well, he missed that by about four weeks."

"Four weeks?"

Jojo just chuckled.

Well, damn.

I grabbed Tommy and swung him up in my arms. I snuggled him against my chest, holding him with one arm. I grabbed Jojo's hand then started down the hallway. "What do you want for breakfast, squirt?"

"Panacakes."

I smiled at Tommy. "Pancakes it is."

I hoped.

I'm sure if I asked nicely, Henry would make Tommy some pancakes.

There were a few people in the dining room when we reached it. I nodded to them as we walked to the buffet. I handed two plates to Jojo. I could come back for my plate after my family was fed.

"Okay, Tommy, what do you want?" As Tommy pointed to the food he wanted, I scooped up little servings and put them on his plate. I smiled when Jojo held out a plate. "And you, young man, what would you like?"

Jojo laughed as he pointed out what he wanted to eat. Once both plates were full, I carried Tommy over to the table and sat him down in one of the chairs. I frowned when he was barely able to see over the edge of the table. "We need to get a booster seat for Tommy."

"We will," Jojo assured me.

I nodded then went to get my own plate. By the time I sat down and started eating, more of the pride were walking into the room. I nodded to each of them then continued eating. I was hoping to be able to convince Bob to go for a walk to the park after breakfast.

Sinclair was the last to enter the room, Stone right behind him. "Stalker, Jojo, can I see you in my office after you're done?"

"Yes, of course." I didn't like the seriousness of his voice.

Sinclair glanced at Jojo. "Would it be okay if Tommy went to play upstairs in your suite with Bob? He's offered to bring Mustachio over to play with your new kitten."

Now I knew something was wrong.
