Terry rolled his eyes before grabbing Dan's arm and yanking him sideways. Dan grunted as he fell against Terry, his eyes popping open. When he tried to push himself up, Terry pushed him right back down. "Rest, Dan."

Dan stared up at him for a moment before settling his head on Terry's thigh. For a moment, his entire body was stiff, but then it was as if someone had pulled the plug. Dan's eyes drifted close as he sighed, and all the fight went out of him.

He was softly snoring mere moments later.

Terry smiled as he stroked his fingers through Dan's hair. He settled back in the couch cushions and got comfortable, prepared to be there for the long haul. If he could help the man get a good night's sleep, he'd stay there until the sun came up in the morning.

He had no idea why Dan had become important to him, but he had. Over the last couple of weeks, Terry had started looking forward to coming home, something he hadn't really enjoyed since his parents passed away.

He liked the feeling of warmth that filled him every time he stepped inside his house and heard Dan singing along to the music playing in the background, and the knowledge that the man was most likely dancing around the kitchen to that tune.

His only worry was the distance that seemed to hold between the two of them. Terry sighed. He wished he was braver, but he just wasn't. He was pretty sure Dan was interested in him, but his fear of being rejected and then having to live in the same house with the guy was huge.

He couldn't help but wonder if Dan was having the same issue. On the other hand, Terry didn't know Dan that well. The guy could just be a really friendly guy. Just the thought of that made Terry's head hurt. He wanted Dan to be single and gay and interested and…damn, he wanted the man.
