Remember how we ran? Remember how we played? Come on, Casey, remember me. Remember who I am.

She shakes her head and snaps at me when I get too close. I let out a frustrated growl and bound across the arena, dropping into a play bow.

“Kill him!” Jonas roars.

I whirl on him, growling.

She attacks, her teeth biting into my shoulder. I don’t move.

If you want to kill me, I will die for you, my love.

Her teeth slip, and she lets go, backing off with a concerned whine. I stand up as a man.

She backs away, her lupine eyes wide, panicked. She backs straight into that filthy cage.

“Casey,” I plead. “Come here, come to me.”

Her eyes open wider, and a whine tears from her throat.

“Casey, it’s me. It’s Riordan. Your Riot.”

“Close that cage! I’ll take care of him myself!”

Jonas again. Always interrupting. Well, this time, I will kill him.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see someone reaching for a lever above Casey’s cage.

“No! Don’t lock her up, don’t cage her!”

I rush the cage, but it slams shut before I can get there. Her eyes widen, and I finally see her recognise me at last. She whines, frantic to get to me, but the cage is old and heavy.

“You piece of shit!” I roar.

I whirl around, putting her cage at my back.

Jonas shifts into that ugly-ass wolf I met in the alleyway.

I change, and his eyes blow wide. I can almost hear the accusation in his mind. You!

I rush him, attacking, but he’s as quick as I remember.

“LET ME OUT!” Casey howls.

Jonas stumbles, and I grab his throat, my teeth clenching hard. He shakes me off. I know I’ve hurt him, but it’s not a death blow.

I snarl and land in a crouch, glaring at the massive alpha.

“Open the cage!” Casey commands. The power rolls over us, and I stagger under the sheer strength of it.

The cage opens, and she steps out.

Jonas is in the pit with an alpha who hates him and his omega mate. I can see him starting to sweat. His odds just became impossible.

He runs for the fence, but I cut him off, biting into his shoulder and dragging him back.

Casey slams into him, scrabbling madly at him as she bites down with bone-breaking force on his muzzle.

Jonas howls, he screams, but neither of us lets go. There’s no way I’m letting go.
