Even if he did I’ll fight.

Because this. . .this is where I belong. With him. With Vipers MC.

The celebration begins for Grace at the club house.

Slater grabs everyone a shot glass and by Grace’s preferred choice, pours tequila in all our glasses.

He even lays the charm on thick and heavy while he pours the shot of tequila for Grace’s friend, Sasha. A beautiful woman with a figure many of high end woman willingly pay for.

He makes sure his fingers brush against her skin while giving her a boyish smile and a wink that has melted many of women’s hearts. But I have to give credit to Sasha, Slater’s charms do nothing to disarm her and it throws Slater off.

After the shots have been poured everyone raises their glasses in the air.

Alice begins a toast before we toss back our shots. Her honey brown eyes are misty but they shine proudly. “To my best friend, my sister, Grace. You have accomplished so much in your life and yet it has only begun. I am so proud of you and I thank the stars everyday that you came into my life. To Grace!”

“To Grace,” we all cheer in unison and down our glasses. The burn that slides down my throat and sizzles in my stomach doesn’t linger but it’s welcome.

“I thought I told you not to make me cry any more tonight,” Grace laughs while wiping the underneath of her eyes, careful not to smudge her mascara.

Alice smiles at her innocently. “I heard no such thing.”

Grace rolls her eyes but there’s warmth in the depths of them. “Yeah, yeah, sure. But I’ll be getting back at you for that.”

“Well, you’re going to have to save that for another time because we need to get ready for your party at The Pit tonight,” Alice tells her. Then unwrapping herself from Snake, who looks physically pained to let her go, she takes Grace’s arm in hers and begins to lead her to her room. “Come on girls! Let’s get ready!” Alice calls for them and they follow behind her.

Rosa and Sticks have taken Connor and baby Christine with them for the night back at their home.

Nora had texted me earlier today that she was helping Daniella set up for tonight and that she would meet me when all of us get there.

“Well, gentlemen,” Slater addresses us while snagging a beer behind our bar counter and popping off the lid with his teeth, “we might as well enjoy a drink or two while the ladies get ready.” He takes a long swallow of his beer and I roll my eyes at his impatience.

One of the things being a Marine has taught me is patience.

Dex lazily takes a seat on the leather loveseat and props his feet up on the coffee table, crossing his ankles as he leans back relaxed. “I have a baby. If that doesn’t teach a man patience I don’t know what will. Plus I waited for Haven to come back in my life after six long years. Patience is my middle name.”

“You act as if they’ll take forever to get ready,” Snake comments.

“Isn’t it a known fact that when a woman says she’ll be five minutes to add another twenty?” Slater counters.

“Don’t let Haven hear you say that or you’ll earn yourself a black eye,” Dex chuckles and my lips tip upwards slightly because he isn’t lying.

Slater swallows another mouthful of beer, the glass bottle almost empty.

For a young man with a leaner physique his alcohol tolerance is incredibly high. He could out drink all of us and still be standing. Where most men would find that impressive I know my brothers and I find it alarming.

“Fine,” he then guzzles down the rest of his beer before cracking open another one, “let’s address the elephant in the room shall we?”

Snake raises a brow. “What elephant?”

“It’s hardly an elephant, more like a fucking hippopotamus,” Pax snorts from across the room. He’s vigilantly watching the feeds while waiting with us for the girls to get ready.

Dex agrees, nodding his head while looking me dead straight in the eyes.

I raise a brow at him, my arms folded over my chest. “You want to say something?”

“Oak,” Snake warns but I ignore him.
