“What are you saying, Gabe?”
“I’m saying I’m ready for something new. Something new, with you by my side, Ivy. I’m all into us.”
“Wow, my parents are going to freak out if I tell them how much our condo is worth.”
Gabe laughed. “They’ll be proud, though.”
Ivy nodded. “What about your job?”
Gabe sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “I love the Bandit Brothers, but Ivy, I love you more. And if this is where you need to make your home, then this is where I have to be. It’s that simple.”
Her eyes lit up, and she kissed him, long and slow, her tongue entwining with his. He ran his hand along her arm, pulling her into his lap.
“I can get another job. Quinn gave me a lead on a part-time job as a medic trainer. The pay is awful.”
“I don’t care. I can support us. As long as you don’t mind?”
“No, I don’t mind being a kept husband.” Gabe cupped her face and kissed her, biting her lower slip slightly. Her mouth parted for him, his arms tightened around her and under her, and he grew rock hard. The scent of her favourite magnolia conditioner filled his nostrils, and he kissed her neck, then took her hand and kissed the pulse at her wrist. “You are all I need, Ivy.”
“You already have an advantage, not being fully dressed.”
“In the bedroom, Princess, I will always have the advantage.”
Ivy stilled her hands on her thigh. “That’s the compromise?”
“It’s not a compromise. It’s what works for us. We got lost back there, trying to be a certain thing or at least I did. You were always you. You being a boss lady out there and then kneeling for me the minute you get home? Yeah, that works for me.”
“Oh, it’s like that?” Ivy asked, a huge grin on her face.
“Yes. And asking my permission to get in our bed at night. And never forget that when it comes to this,” he grabbed her hair, pulling her back against him, as his hand slid down to palm her mound, “I’m in charge.”
Her eyes dilated, the pleasure blushing her cheeks, her gaspy breath going straight to his cock. He feasted on her mouth, nipping at her lips until they were swollen and bright pink. He let go of her hair and kissed the column of her throat, right down to the swell of her breasts.
“Yes! Please.”
His hands gently worked the buttons free on her blouse as her cell phone rang from across the room. Ivy collapsed on his shoulder.
“No.”
“You got to answer, Princess.” He helped her to her feet.
“Hello?” She sounded perfectly composed. “What? She can’t do that. She absolutely cannottalk to the press. I’m on my way. I’ll be there in thirteen minutes.”
Gabe chuckled. “Need to put out a fire?”
“It’s what I do.”
“Then go. I’ll be here when you get back, and then maybe we can look at some real estate listings.”
“Yes, okay,” Ivy said. She was distracted, putting her iPad in her bag, sliding on her shoes, and grabbing her jacket.
“Want me to drive you over?”
“No, I’ll just… Yes! Hurry, though.”
Gabe grinned. He quickly threw on a black t-shirt and slipped his feet into boots. “Let’s go.”
“I love you.”
