Ella floated over to the kitchen, and Harper finished packing up the garment.
“I can make our coffee,” Harper said.
“Sure. I keep my favourite kind in the freezer.” Ella pulled out a stool at the island.
Who’d have thought Harper would miss making coffee for Xander? But Logan didna have a morning routine. He usually just grabbed an energy drink out of the fridge or made a protein shake. He liked to cook dinner, and they ate out often because he wanted to be around people who weren’t wearing suits. Harper sighed, pressing the button on Ella’s machine.
“I miss working at Axis Management,” Harper said.
Ella tilted her head. “Yes, I imagine you would. Maybe when your rehearsal schedule picks up, you’ll feel busy enough.”
Harper shrugged, grabbed cups from the mug tree on the counter and poured coffee for her and Ella.
“Creamer in the fridge. I like the hazelnut one,” Ella said with a chuckle. “Though Zee tells me it’s a good way to ruin a cup of coffee.”
Harper poured, stirred, passed Ella her mug and brought her mug to the island.
“But he doesn’t mind if you have it?”
“Not at all. He likes me happy, and creamer in my coffee is a little thing.” Ella smiled as she sipped.
“I miss Xander,” Harper said. She stared at the wooden beams above her, not wanting to cry. “I love Logan, Ella, I do, but Xander demands more of me. He doesn’t think I can handle his needs, and his past relationship was terrible, but I’ve loved him for a while. And living with Logan is just making me miss Xander more.”
“Have you told Logan?” Ella asked, the gentleness in her voice somehow making Harper cry more. She wiped furiously at her cheeks.
Harper bit her lip, wondering how much to tell Ella. She didn’t want to burden her friend with her past, but Ella was one of the few people who knew Logan and the Bandit Brothers worked for Axis Management.
“Xander and Logan and I, we… a couple of weeks ago…” Heat flooded her cheeks. She looked up from her cup, meeting Ella’s warm expression.
“I love them both. I don’t know how or why, I just do, and a couple of weeks ago, the three of us, had an amazing night and then Xander left, because he can’t handle it or thinks he’s too old or that I can’t handle it. And then Logan left Axis Management. I think he’s been feeling anchorless ever since.”
Ella’s warm hands closed around hers. “Harper, you love who you love.”
“I miss him so much.” She wiped at the tears falling down her face.
“Then you have to tell them, both of them, and it sounds like Xander needs reassurance.”
“Xander? That big powerful, always in control man, needs reassurance?”
“In my experience, all Doms do,” Ella said, smiling at her.
Harper bit her lip. He was a big powerful, always in control man whose anxiety often got the best of him. Maybe he did need her reassurance.
“Ask Logan. If he’s as aimless as you make him out to be, he’s looking for a similar thing you are. Xander might be it. Now let’s get back to work and you can help me carry these packages into the post office if you don’t mind.”
“No, I’m happy to,” Harper said.
“I can see that.” Ella laughed as Harper cleared the mugs, rinsed them, and put them in the dishwasher.
Harper smiled. “I didn’t think I was a service sub before this, but yes, I miss doing the tiny thousands of things Xander had me doing every day. Logan is more self-sufficient and doesn’t think to ask me.”
“It takes all kinds.” Ella smiled. “And maybe to meet your needs, it takes two.”
Harper smiled, relieved that Ella understood. Now she had to make Logan understand what she needed and tell Xander.

“Come to Submissive Night next week,” Ella said as she dropped Harper back home. “If you can.”
