Logan opened the shower door, water dripping off his toned skin. He held a big fluffy towel out for her and Xander backed her into it. Together, the men dried her off from head to toe. She watched as Xander dried his long black hair, as Logan quickly dried off. She tried to form words. How could she express how grateful she was for both these men?
After Xander hung up all the towels, they brought her into the bedroom. Logan lifted her off the floor and into bed and wrapped an arm around her. Xander stood by; Harper watched the tense expression on his face and stiffened.
“Come to bed, please Sir,” she said.
He flinched for a moment.
“Come on, Xander, let’s make sure she’s safe and warm tonight,” Logan said.
Xander nodded. “For tonight.”
Sliding in next to Harper, he took her chin in his fingers. “Few things I wouldn’t do for you, Angel,” he said, kissing her deeply and when he broke off the kiss that made desire bloom again, Logan was there, his tongue dominating her, making sure she knew he was there for her.
“Sleep, Kitten,” he said. Bringing her against his chest, Harper snuggled against him, Xander slipped his leg between hers, and Harper drifted to sleep, snuggly sandwiched between the two hearts she loved.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE - XANDER
Atrillingfromsomewherestartled Xander awake. He carefully eased out from under Harper, her hair spilling across the pillow as he tucked the sheet around her chin. She sighed her sleep and snuggled closer to Logan.
Damn. Last night had blown his mind apart. He had never thought about sharing Harper, never considered he could have anything with her and Logan’s ease with sharing her, inviting Xander in, felt like a gift. One he would treasure always.
He grabbed the phone from his pocket. “Yes?”
“You promised you would leave me alone! What did my brother ever do to you! You can’t ruin his life like you ruined mine!”
Xander moved quickly. Closing the door, he went through the glass doors to the balcony at the end of the hall.
“Olivia?” he said.
“Yes, you asshole. Who else would call you? Did you ruin anyone else’s life lately? You promised to leave me alone.”
Xander shut his eyes against the memory. The last time he had visited her at the rehab facility when he had gone to make sure everything was all right. That was when she had told him she didn’t love him and had been pretending for three years.
He had been crushed. As someone who felt he was great at reading people, Olivia’s deception had cut him deep.
“Your brother made his own choices. Choices have consequences,” Xander said, through gritted teeth.
“Fuck you, you asshole.” Oliva slammed the phone on him. He probably deserved that because if he had caught on to the fact that being a slave wasn’t really in Olivia’s soul, he would have released her. Not planned to put a ring on her finger. She felt because she let him be kinky with her, he owed her. He shook his head.
He didn’t want to chance it with any other woman, he couldn’t. And he definitely would not risk Harper any further.
As wonderful and out of this world as the night had been, that’s all it was, one night. He was damn lucky to even get that. The wind whipped his hair around and Xander went back inside, grabbed a shower, and quickly got dressed.
“Morning.” Logan met him in the kitchen, looking clean, his shirt undone and his pants on.
“Coffee?” Xander offered.
“Sure. How did you sleep?”
“Dreamlessly. You?”
“Same. I’m just so relieved to have Harper safe with us, where she belongs.”
Xander filled the coffeemaker, pressed start, and turned and faced his friend.
“Logan, last night was incredible, but it’s not realistic. You know I can’t give Harper everything she needs.”
“What are you talking about? I thought we covered this. You can give her way more than I ever could. She trusts you.”
