And right at her scream, his muscles strained against her chest, and she felt his sheathed release deep in her core.

“Damn, Kitten.” Logan ran his hand on her hot skin, and for a moment she couldn’t grasp her breath, the room spinning on her.

With absolute gentleness, he dislodged from her, and in the absence of his warmth, she felt a little more level. He walked over to the far wall, opened a mini-fridge and took out a bottle of water.

“Drink.”

A small thrill went through her at hearing the huskiness in her voice. She got to this man.

Coming back to bed, Logan wrapped his arms around her, nuzzling her neck.

“That was so good.”

“Yes,” Harper said, closing her eyes as his comforting warmth seeped into her.

“Now you have three choices,” Logan said, nibbling her ear. “We can spend the night here, I can drive you to wherever you want to go, or you can shower and get in the car with your bodyguard.”

Her heart thundered. Of course, he knew. She twisted away from him, panic shooting through her veins.

“No running,” Logan said, pulling her back. “You don’t have to explain. I’m only giving you choices.”

“Stay with me, here, please,” Harper said.

“You got it.”

As he brought her head to his chest, Harper threaded her fingers through his, basking in how safe she felt being in Logan Marrock’s embrace.

CHAPTER SEVEN - XANDER

XanderriffledthroughHarper’sdesk, disparaging at the mess the clutter had become. Doing this bought him a couple of moments because he wasn’t looking forward to the meeting.

“Damn it,” he said, as he took out a file from the pile and other paperwork fell to the floor.

“It would be easier if you waited for her to come back from a dinner break,” Ares said. “You’re making work for yourself.”

“Her desk has been a mess all week!” Xander glared at his brother.

“She knows where everything is in this mess. What are you looking for, anyway?” Ares said, leaning against the door.

“I want to find the hard copy of the report from last week on Mulberry’s detail. An inconsistency is bothering me.”

“There haven’t been any new threats?”

“No, but she has had a couple of hang-ups and after reading today’s report, something rang off to me about it. I can’t find it!”

With annoyance, Xander pulled the paper off the desk. Ever since Harper’s date with Logan, her work had been less tidy, her attention somewhere else. A dreamy look on her face. He’d caught her looking at pics on her phone, giggling over texts.

“Let’s go before we’re late,” Xander said, marching out the door.

“You know, the man didn’t put a ring on her finger,” Ares said, catching up just before the elevator doors closed. “You’ve got to cheer up.”

“She went out with Logan to a BDSM Club, Ares. I think her choice is clear,” Xander said, fixing the cuff on his suit jacket, god he hated wearing suits.

“You didn’t give her a choice, Xander. Here, take these and ask Harper out. Tell her how you feel about her.Thenshe can make a choice.” Ares reached into his jacket pocket and passed him an envelope.

“Tickets to the ballet?”

“It’s Stravinsky. She’ll love it. It’s box seats. You go in the stage door and exit the stage door.” Ares shrugged. “Easy. You could try out our new bodyguard hires as part of their probation.”
