"What is it?" Deepa asked.

"It's Axel." He shook his head. "He hasn't been doing so well."

Deepa rolled her eyes. "And why should I care?"

"He's more unhinged than normal. If you could only talk with him-"

"He's a grown man, he can sort his own shit out."

"But you're his mate."

"No," Deepa snapped. "We're not mates. We’re two entirely different people who exist outside of each other. I'm not his property."

"But it's different for him, Deepa. He was born a werewolf. He can't just turn it off with some pills."

"That's his problem. It's not my fault that he's so fucked up."

"You're right." Luke nodded. "It's not. But if you could at least try and understand..."

"I already told you, I don't care.” Deepa clenched her fist. “I honestly just don't care. He's the one who brought this all on himself, he can deal with it."

Luke looked like he wanted to say more, but he closed his mouth, shoulders slumping in defeat. "Alright, I get it. I'm sorry for bothering you."

Deepa frowned as Luke got up and left her room, gently closing the door behind him.

Guilt gnawed at her stomach, but she quickly brushed it away. Axel could rot in hell as far as she cared. He was a pathetic loser who was probably just sulking because his feelings were hurt. She didn't owe him anything.

Deepa picked up the phone and returned to scrolling through jobs. She was leaving the mansion forever as soon as she got her shit sorted out.

Axel unleashed his bat on a thousand dollar microscope, sending the pieces crashing against the brick wall. He then turned his attention to an expensive computer monitor, smashing it with his bare fist.

He was furious, enraged and devastated.

His inner wolf was raging inside him, scratching and biting at his insides, demanding Deepa's attention, her focus, her love.

Bruno sat on an empty desk, enjoying a bag of potato chips as Axel unleashed his rage on the university lab. Several of the computers were reduced to small pieces and glass littered the floor. An overturned fridge had been ripped open and emptied, its contents splattered across the wall.

Axel hadn’t been ordered to destroy the lab, but it seemed like a good target. The less research that humanity could do against werewolves the better.

Reese was balls deep in a curvy blond college student, rocking his hips as she clung to his shoulders and groaned.

"Make me a wolf," she huffed. "I wanna howl at the moon."

"Of course, babe," Reese grinned. "I'll bite you right when I cum."

"Promise?" she giggled, her nails digging into his back.

"Promise."

"How about you two hurry the fuck up?" Axel snapped, picking up a chair and hurling it into an expensive machine.

"Calm your tits," huffed Reese, giving the woman a wink. "Can't rush fated mates."

Axel pulled off a panel and started ripping out wires with his bare hands, snapping several of them with his teeth.

"Come on," whined the girl. "Just do it now."

"Patience, babe," Reese muttered, his hips grinding into hers. "I want to feel you turn on my dick."
