"This is all your fault," Deepa said, her voice rising. "If you hadn't bit me, I'd still be normal. I'd still be human."
"And you'd still be out murdering all my friends! So don't whine to me about how you're so hard done by."
Deepa glared at him. "I had a life, asshole."
"So did I," he shot back. "A great one, full of fucking whoever I wanted until I met you. A stuck up Infection Control bitch who's decided to stick to me like a barnacle."
"What the fuck to you mean? A barnacle? You're the parasite who infected me with their fucked up werewolf germs."
"Oh, fuck off," Axel muttered.
Deepa could feel the rage building up inside her.
"This isn't fair!" she screamed. "None of this is fair. Why did you have to do this to me?"
The door to the house swung open and a thin blond man dressed in a bathrobe emerged scratching his crotch, green eyes gazing over their naked bodies.
"Well…this is new," he said. "Didn't you say that you'd never screw a turned one, Axel?"
Axel? Deepa's eyes snapped back to the man beside her.
Axel let out a low growl. "Fuck off, Luke."
"Hey, hey," Luke said, holding his hands up. "I'm not here to judge. You're welcome to screw in the bushes as much as you like."
"I wasn't-" Deepa began.
Luke cut her off. "But, please keep the screaming to a minimum, some of us are trying to sleep. And if you do end up killing him, please take the body home with you."
Deepa's face turned red. "I wasn't… I didn't mean…I didn't want to-."
Luke shrugged, glancing down at the several scratch marks lining her body. "Sure, whatever you say.”
"Fuck off, Luke," Axel growled.
Luke rolled his eyes, turning to head back inside, but not before giving Deepa one last look. "You know, I heard that he likes it when girls slip a finger up his butt."
"Fuck you!” Axel shouted.
Luke laughed, the door slamming shut.
Axel’s face contorted with anger, hands clenched into fists.
Shit, Deepa thought.He's pissed.
"Get out," he hissed under his breath.
"Excuse me?"
"Get the fuck out," Axel snarled glaring straight at her, whole body trembling.
Deepa's heart sank. She didn't know why, but his words cut her like a knife to the chest.
"But I-"
"But what?" Axel hissed, his blue eyes narrowing. "You hate me, and I don't particularly like you either. How about we call it a day and both fuck off to where ever we came from."
Deepa bit her lip, the urge to wrap her arms around him overpowering, but she squashed it down. She didn't need to kill him right now. She could regroup and come back to blow his brains out later.
