“Put your seat belt on,” he ordered, glancing over his shoulder to make sure they weren’t being followed.
What now?
In truth, he hadn’t thought that far in advance, he’d just known that he had to get his mate away from there in case she walked away from him and he never saw her again.
Mate is with us now. We will win her over.He nodded to himself. His bear was right. Now that they were alone together, it was only a matter of time until he convinced her he wasn’t a dangerous psycho who’d kidnapped her for no reason. He had agreatreason.
His mate jutted out her chin defiantly but reached for the belt and tugged it across her body. Sloane drove around for about fifteen minutes, unsure of what to do next. He still lived with his family, so he couldn’t take her home. The only place he owned himself was a little cabin on the outskirts of the city where he and his brothers went fishing together. That could work. No-one would disturb them there. Probably. He’d take her to the cabin.
Sloane only hoped he could talk his mate around quickly, otherwise he was going to be arrested for kidnapping and how would that look? Not only was he an FBI agent, but he was a member of an elite SWAT team. He loved his job and had worked hard to get where he was, but if the next few hours didn’t go as planned, he was going to lose his place on the SWAT team, lose his job, and, quite probably, go to prison for a very long time. And worst of all, lose his mate.
He bit back a curse. What the hell had he gone and done?
