Aria nodded. “I’d give just about anything for a hot shower.”

“I’ll take you home.”

As Nash escorted Aria out of the house, another of the agents came running up to them. “We’ve got them,” he said. “Two agents were in the area, and they picked them up snooping outside Mario’s house. We’ll need Aria to identify them, but we’ve got them.”

“It’ll have to wait,” Nash said, a protective growl in his voice like he was daring anyone to argue. “I’m taking her home now. She needs to shower and rest.”

“Of course. Just bring her into the office whenever she’s feeling up to it.”

“I can go now,” Aria said.

“Are you sure?” Nash asked. “You don’t have to.”

Aria nodded. “I think I’ve got enough energy left in me. And I’d rather get it over and done with now so I can go home and relax and not have to worry about needing to go anywhere later or tomorrow. Will it take long?”

“Not at all,” Nash said firmly, locking eyes with the other agent. He wrenched his gaze back to her. “And they’ll be behind a one-way mirror, so they won’t know you’re there, okay?”

“Okay. That’s good.”

As they were walking to the vehicle, Aria leaning into Nash and relishing his closeness, a shout of jubilation came from behind them. The female officer hung up a call on her cell phone as they all turned to look at her.

“That was Flint. They’ve apprehended Juan.”

“He’s the big boss man,” Aria said. “I heard the men talking about him.”

Nash turned to her, his eyebrows raised. “Did they happen to say anything else?”

Aria nodded. “They said there was a big shipment of drugs coming in this afternoon.”

Nash blinked. “Did they say where?”

She frowned, trying to remember. “The port. And they said they had told Juan they would have Diego for him before he went over to the storage facility on Watson.”

“Holy shit,” one of the male agents said and when Aria looked across at him, she realized it was Cole, Maya’s partner. She’d been so focused on Nash, she hadn’t even realized Cole was there.

“It’s how they’re doing it,” Nash said. “Getting the drugs into Miami—through the port and a storage place on Watson.”

“I’ll call it in,” in the other male agent said. “We’ve got them, we’ve finally got them.”

Aria got the feeling it was going to be a very long day, but Nash’s words surprised her.

“You guys are going to have to do this one without me. I need to take care of my mate.”

“We wouldn’t have expected anything different,” Cole said, as a black sedan pulled up in front of them. “Your mate comes before your job.”

Aria had never been more relieved and more filled with love and admiration for the man in front of her in all her life.

Epilogue

Nash

“Oh my God, your shower is to die for! Have I told you that before?” Aria said as she came into the room, patting her hair with a towel.

When he caught sight of her with wet, tousled hair, his mind wandered with all kinds of erotic possibilities. They’d only made love that morning, but he just couldn’t get enough of her, and he doubted he ever would.

Nash chuckled. “You might have mentioned it once or twice in the past three months.”

She shrugged. “I swear it gets better every time I use it.”
