“That’s it,” Nash encouraged. “Come for me, my beautiful mate.”

His sweet words of encouragement were all that Aria needed to find her release. She threw her head back against the pillow and came hard, the erotic sensations exploding through her body. Nash followed her over the precipice, grunting through his own orgasm, his hips stilling as he emptied himself inside her. Pleasure, raw and unbridled rushed through them both and just when she thought she couldn’t take anymore, her orgasm seemed to intensify until it finally, mercifully started to ebb.

When they were finally spent, they collapsed onto the sheets next to one another, breathing heavily.

“That was incredible,” Nash said. “I never knew it could be like that. Thank you.”

Aria couldn’t contain her amusement. “You’re thanking me?”

He grinned. “Not for the sex, although, yeah, thank you for that too.”

“Then for what?”

“Thank you for accepting me as your mate so readily.”

Aria smiled at him. “I’m not sure I had any choice in the matter. It’s fate, after all.”

“Fate,” he repeated then they held each other close until their sweat-soaked bodies cooled, and Aria drifted off into a deep, contented sleep.

Chapter Seven

Nash

“Nash, wait up!” Hawk called, halting Nash in his tracks as he made for the office.

“Hey, what’s up?” he greeted his teammate.

“I’ve got that information you wanted, and you are not going to believe it when I tell you what I’ve learned.”

Nash blinked. “You got the information already? That was fast. Go on then, I’m intrigued.”

“So, I asked around last night, no one in my family or circle of friends had heard of Diego so I reached out to one of my informants and he was only too happy to spill the beans. He said he can’t stand him.”

“Now why doesn’t that surprise me?” Nash asked dryly. “I don’t think many people do like that man. Well, maybe his mother, but who knows? Probably not even her. What did you learn?”

“Our man Diego used to work for the very cartel we’ve been trying to bring down for all these months.”

Nash stared at Hawk in disbelief. “You have got to be shitting me.”

“I shit you not. So if we find Diego, we might be able to get him to tell us where the big boss man, Juan, is hiding out. Can you believe it? We’ve spent all this time working this case and the solution might have been under our noses all along.”

“There’s only one problem with that,” Nash said.

“Yeah, what’s that?”

“I might have punched Diego and knocked him out when I saw him manhandling my mate. I don’t think that man is going to tell me a damn thing.”

Hawk shrugged, seemingly unconcerned about the punch. “I’m sure we can get him to talk.” He flashed Nash a grin. “Besides, we can always threaten him with you. If we can find him that is. He might be long gone by now.”

Of course, Hawk didn’t know about the marriage arrangement that Aria had made with Diego. Diego wasn’t going to leave town in a hurry because of his immigration status. But of course Nash couldn’t tell him that, not without betraying Aria’s trust, and he would never do that. Ever.

“That shouldn’t be a problem. Let me call my mate—” He broke off with a soppy grin, he didn’t think he’d ever get tired of using those words, and then shook his head in an attempt to rattle some sense and focus back into it, and carried on, “I’ll try to get the address of that friend Diego is always hanging around with. I’ll bet he’s staying at his house.”

Hawk shook his head. “Man, you’ve got it bad. All right, you go use your excuse to talk to the lovely Aria. I’ll brief the rest of the team.”

Nash pulled out his cellphone then scrolled through his phone book and found his mate’s number. She answered after a couple of rings.

“Hey,” she said. “I didn’t expect to hear from you until I got off work.”
